Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a question concerning the GWX 2.0-mod. I would like to know if it's possible to do this:
Start a new career in Brest, than (before 2nd patrol) change the patrol grid via sh3-commander to some area in the Mediterranean to be able to go through the strait of Gibraltar and finish this patrol in La Spezia. If I then start the next patrol from there, will the game engine accept La Spezia as my new home base? Or will I have to go all the way back to Brest to continue my career?
Or in other words: Can I myself change my base whenwever I want just by finishing a patrol in any (German) sub base I want? I ask this because I am just planning my first GWX-career.
By the way - something else: I use the Lowered GWX Antennas-Mod in GWX 2.0 and someone wrote in this forum that this shouldn't be done. Why? What are the negative effects an the GWX 2.0-mod?
Thank you for your support!

Answer for the first part: no, coz u r not transferred in flotilia which placed in La Spezia. U can come there and replace ur ammunition and fuel but IF ur HOMEbase is Brest it remain the same. In other words all what i said mean that u will NOT recieve renown points, awards etc. for ur crew if u come in other port than that u are got as ur homebase.

that ist NOT THAT GREAT cause that means that there is absolutely no way of changing a base by sailing from one to another. no way through the Gibraltar strait (my favourite area of this sim!) within a campagne
ollright; can't change it. than I'll take the sonderzug of the BdU to get to La Spezia (which is quite boring).

thanx

You have to ask for transfer to La Spezia.

You'll have to study which flotilla uses port of La Spezia and from which starting year. Then after 6 patrols (or six months, not sure) you'll be able to ask for transfer to the flotilla that uses port of La Spezia, and then after the transfer is aproved, your mission on the next patrol will be to go from your port, across gibraltar and into La Spezia, which will be your home port from that moment on.

By the way, are you copying my nickname? lol

ahoj thomsen!

thanx for your reply; i'll try that.
copiying your nickname? don't think so (have this nick since 2005) but there are many many thomsens in other forums. no wonder, cause this guy was and is very popular among us. at least in germany (where i'am from) cause of his famous speech about hitler in the "bar royal" ("the great naval expert...").

have a good time out there and hit the ai!

Well it is possible to do it this way. Sail through the Gibraltar strait and then "teleport" back to base when you are no closer than some hundered kilometers from La Spezia. This way you at least get the feeling of sailing through the strait. ;)
