Finding lost Fubar skins

Hey guys its been a while. I drifted off the promised path to pursue some other interests. School, life, girls (one in particular these days). The whole gamut. Saw it was out at christmas but was too busy then. Well I'm back to give GWX2 the proper sail through.

However on searching through the Fubar thread of skins I noticed that a lot of his downloads are gone. So I'm hoping that some people out there still have the ones that aren't there.

Specifically I'm interested in his Type II skins. The folder for that on his filefront is totally empty and there aren't any in the low res section either.

Also I would like the VIIC U-553, the VIIC Dark (looks pretty dark) and his VIIC/41 in hi res (if there ever was one since I can only find the low res). Also any VIIB ones since they're all gone too.

I was thinking that maybe I'll try and compile eventually all his skins if I can and save them so that everyone else wont have to go starting threads to find them.:up: Seems terrible that the ones that are most popular disappear cause they take the most bandwidth over time.

Type II's and XXI aren't always compatible with other mega mods. Type VII's and IX's can work with any mod. But Type II's and XXI have to be imported to the DAT file. So unless GWX 2.0 has included optional skin choices for those Type II and XXI, your out of luck.
But someone might be able to import them to the proper Dat files and hope no issues occur

Well I'm pretty sure that the U-552 one isn't on Fubar's page anymore either.

Frankly I'll take any Fubar textures that aren't on his page anymore. And how about the process to import the type II's to dats? Is it something I could do without much prior experience? I like to tweak my installs to no end anyway.

Means when you have a VIIB for example, before any departure for a new patrol (when you are in base) and before loading it, you change the skin of your sub through JSGME ?
Why don't you keep the same skin for your VIIB until you get a VIIC ?
I have a stupid question regarding to winter skins. When do you use them as the game runs its own weather ? cause when you leave for patrol on June, you cannot have a winter skin ?

If your after THE LOT (everything I have stored, regardless of creator) it amounts to about 850MB.

I use the winter skin in the winter months, and when I'm hunting arctic convoys.

Also sometimes you want to start out with a nice clean newly painted sub but after a few weeks your sub turns into a rust bucket.;)

Yea I would appreciate that. I'm actually away from home at the moment but I'll be home for all of Friday. Perfect timing eh? For the time being I'll just take your entire Fubar collection and perhaps any other superb skins you think are worth a look that might not be easy to find.

I think I'll look to acquire a more diverse SH3 mod backup later. Gotta buy some DVDs first. Need to back a lot of up actually.

K I've got the frist one but the second one I can't get at cause it says I've exceeded my download limit. Then when I went back to try again it said it was temporarily unavailable.

EDIT. Nvm, seems to be working now. Should be done with the download in about half an hour.

EDIT2. No it seems my limit is still exceeded. Won't be able to get it for at least an hour and some. Gonna have to go out before then I think so perhaps we'll have to try and exchange this 2nd file on another occasion. :(
