Ok!
So I've played around a bit with the new addon.
I ran across a large american task force, cool!
However, after manouvering around making a lot of noise I saw that the american destroyers didn't use active sonar at all.
They only have one big circle around, so I guess the problem lies in the ship type.
Will look into it.
I think the dangerous pinging destroyers should be present as american ships, not only as japanese!

Someone knows what files to look in to activate active sonar cone to american destroyers?
Check the .sns files and see what they have for active sonar.
The N nodes are actives.

Ok!
I've tried to edit the .sns file for Somers destroyer to test it out.
I added the same N-node equipment as the Akizuki uses.
It didn't have any affect.
The american destroyerclass Somer still act as they are deaf!
I checked the Unit class type in the cfg files for the two, and they are both class 4 unit type, so that doens't seem to play a role.
The sonar cone indicators are missing if you select the american destoyers.
So it seems like they are not configured as destroyers from stock.
Someone with more suggestions?
Thanks anyway!

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum, could you be kind to move this topic to the SH4 development area?

Use S3D, open the dat, and see if it HAS any active sensor nodes. The cfg frequently don't match reality.

Thanks a lot for trying to guide me tater.
I have looked through the ships dat files, but haven't found any node here with the option to turn active sonar on. I looked through the AI_sensors.dat, but I think I just have to find out where to turn on active sonar on the american ships from somewhere, but I can't find out where.
Do you know exactly where this "switch" would be tater or anybody else?
What you'd be looking for is the existence of the N01 node. If one is missing, and an active sensor is assigned to it in the sns file... no active sensor.
Ducimus fixed my Evarts-based IJN Kaibokan and it had a problem with the actives. Search for the thread. The US escorts never really needed sonar at all before, so it's not surprising there might be some issues.
I should be clear the stock Evarts is broken and won't ping, but it has been modded to work by Ducimus who discovered the issue. Was the escort in question Evarts??

It's probably a ship-specific problem, as the Fletchers and Clemsons i encountered pinged me just fine...

It was the Somers

I've done a check out on the Allied DD's/DE's. The following units have no Sonar/Hydrophones: Evarts and Somer. The following units have no radars: Clemson, Buckley and River. Will work something up and post it later today

Ok!
I managed to fix Somers. Did as explained by you tater, and tested it.
Thanks a million for advice. I imported the nodes from akizuki and changed the name on the nodes from DDS Akizuki to Somers.
The nodes has been added and the Somers now has both active and passive sonar.
I will do the same for the Evarts and release a mod.
I will give tater and lurker_hlb3 credit for their help and input.
Thanks again guys!

A fix to the Sensors has been made by Kakemann and lurker-hlb3 and can be downloaded from this thread:
