learned somthing new about test depth to crush depth ratios
the Navy test depth is 2/3 calculated crush depth
so like my Gar for example....
250ft/.66=378 feet
This should help your depth accuracy mods!!

Trust me, this is nothing new. The 2/3 number has been bandied about for a long time now. The problem is that engineers are always conservative, giving a much smaller number to make sure the user is protected. This is why pilots are always saying "I made that beast do things the designers never dreamed of!" Which led Alexander Kartvelli, designer of the P-47 Thunderbolt, to reply "They did things we didn't tell them about. If they did something we didn't think of, they'd be dead now."
There were several cases in which US boats went to more than twice their test depths, and came back to tell about it; so if you just set it for 3/2 (the reciprocal, of course), you cheat the user out of something they really did. Ideally it should be randomized, so you don't know what it is.
