Hi Folks,
this mod combines the following:

- the new interface called "OLC - GUI" made by onelifecrisis (Version 1.2.3 for GWX 2.0)
- the big dials (course and rudder really big) originally made by Sale for his "SlideOut Anzeigen" with
or without a backgroundpanel (see screenshots)
- the glasses with reflections and indicators made by Testpilot19786 for his "DIALS-SLIDEOUT-Konsole 1.1 für GWX 2.0"

THX to them for permission to use the best of them and put it together for this tiny Add-On.

Installation:

You must have installed GWX 2.0 and the OLC-GUI 1.2.3 (with double mast tool) first, then:

- the mod is JSGME-ready, just unpack and put the directories into your MOD-Folder
- always enable "Latemail SaleOLC123GWX20_core_files" first
- then select the version you prefer (see screens) and enable
- in the documentation-folder you will find screenshots of all four versions

- the secondary dials are available via slide out when you touches the left screen border

Tested with:
- SH3 - Stock
- Patch 1.4b
- GWX 2.0
- OLC GUI 1.2.3 for GWX 2.0

If you have any problems, please report it in this thread or via PM.

will test it.
Thanks!:up:

Just a question... does this need the original OLC GUI 1.2.3. core files (and double mast values)? I am a bit confused by the size... will try and see

;) I think you got it now, first GWX, then OLC-GUI, then my Kombimod ;)

and about the size, well ......... big dials produce big files ....

Latemail,

With this version of the kombimod installed the pop up fuel, air and oxy guages are all greyed out. Needles are there but the guage backs are not. :doh:

Eveything else seems to be working ok. Sorry ... have isolated it to your mod by experimentation unless I'm doing something wrong with the installation.

Latemail,

I should also add that I have tried with the dark (both with and without panel) but not with either version of the light.

Just in case it helps.

Latemail,

Saved you some work and found the culprit in the menu_1024_768.ini file. This entry is missing and needs to be added then all works fine:

[G3F I396]
Name=Bkgr
Type=1031;Stat bmp array
ItemID=0x3F420006
ParentID=0x3F420000
Pos=0,30,512,256
Materials=1
Display=0;No stretch
Mat 0=data/menu/gui/layout/dials1b.tga
MatFlags=0x29
TexFmt=0x9
Drag=false
BmpState=0
NeedFocus=true
SelOne=false
IdGroup=0

Hi folks,

there are some notations to this mod ... here are the solutions ......

1. some Kaleuns are looking for the "inner compass ring" for better navigation

http://freenet-homepage.de/latemail/frage_antwort.jpg

- disable the mod (core files and preferred version)
- get the file with the new inner compass ring (http://rapidshare.com/files/96552985/BigCourseTop.tga) and replace the original file "Mods/Latemail/SaleOLC123GWX20_core_files/data/Menu/OLC/BigCourseTop.tga"
- enable the mod again (core files and preferred version)

2. the compass pointer is not really accurate and also hides to much of the scale

http://freenet-homepage.de/latemail/update_newcourse.jpg

- disable the mod (core files and preferred version)
- get the file with the new course pointer (http://rapidshare.com/files/96555141/NewCourse.tga) and replace the original file "Mods/Latemail/SaleOLC123GWX20_core_files/data/Menu/OLC/NewCourse.tga"
- enable the mod again (core files and preferred version)

THX for using the mod and giving some feedback ........ :sunny: BY

Just so I get this right... your mod is supposed to bring up the showed controll(your screenshots) as soon as you hit the left boarder with the cursor... well if so it does not work for me.

The showed controlles pop up with the button from OLC but then I miss the depth controll bexond 25m... etc etc.

My install procedure:

GWX
OLC
your mod - core files
your mod - the " "Latemail SaleOLC123GWX20_bright_oP""

well... any suggestions?

you missunderstood. Yes the button brings them up and then you move the mouse on the left border next to one of the dials and one of the "missing" dials will appear.. try it.

AH... ok... thanks.....

I never had the idea to try and move the mouse to the boarde the moment the controls were up...:doh: :shifty: :dead:

How about the observation periscope? Its still HUUUUUUUUUUGE like OLC's?

And for people that use manual targeting with weapon officer assistance, did you included the button "solution to target"?

ohoh... now the Torp-choose-dail has no figures... t
his is not a big problem yet a problem... I usually use 1-4 and 2-3 and know where those are... have a screener here:http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/99/4919499/400_3263303736656635.jpg

but nice work... now that I get to know how it works (lazy guy I am... I know...sry.)

read the readme.. there's a uboat folder in OLC's GUI mod which needs to be used by SH3 Cmdr (although manual adding is possible). Those sub-specific mods will add the correct dial faces.

Alsways read the readme ;)

and for Non-Commander-User : here is a small mod for GWX 1.3 (http://rapidshare.com/files/81488776/SalvoSingleGWX.rar), but should work as well for GWX 2.0, but I didnīt tested it yet .... comments are welcome :smug:

I have a one question. Could you make a buttons for changing between a dials (25m and 280m) . or between knots and graph? Slide on the left sometimes is not good. When i have to go deeper, for avoiding DC or something like that. :cool:

Bad news for you ..... I think itīs not possible!! :down:

There are only three buttons which works (hardcode driven) for switching something. And OLC used them already, for switching dials on/off, for switching TDC on/off and for switch his disctools. So the rest must slide ..... but itīs possible to change the "slide-trigger-area" or position of the dials. How would you prefer a solution?

:(
So could you tell me how to change a dials. I prefer that 280m depth dial and knots dial was as primary. The graph and 25M dials should show when i go to slide trigger era.

Iīam not at home at the moment .... so I can only describe it for you without the right itemnumbers .... if you have any problem call in again:

if you look at the menu.ini, you will find the block [G3F] - thatīs where all the dials are defined. watch at the order of appearance, dials which are mentioned first will be displayed on top of the following items (look here for some "german" details (http://freenet-homepage.de/menu_tutorial/anhang4.html)). so you have to swap the whole blocks (260 with 25) and (throttle with speed) .... and donīt forget to renumber the items ;)

good luck

Hi shanetrott,

although I was off the u-boat-things for a while and miss the latest developments, Iīam caught by the virus again ..... ;)

I will have a look at the files, but maybe you can test something quickly, because I havenīt the new versions yet ......... (maybe you did it already)

Does the old "Kombimod" maybe work with GWX 2.1 without changes?? Because it seems to me that there are only minor differences to the former OLC-GUI-versions!!

THX for your help .......

Thanks for your reply Latemail. I have tried it with GWX 2.1 and OLC GUI Special (I believe it is only included as part of the OLCE2 mod) and most of the functionality works. All your modifications appear to be good but some of the OLC extras added/changed since 1.2.3 don't appear to be working.

My knowledge of the menu.ini file is very limited. I took a look at both versions and think I can make sense of most of the changes but haven't been able to get everything working. The more I fiddle the more things I seem to break with one or both of the mods.

I haven't tried it with OLC 1.2.6 as I'm not using this version.

Hope this helps.

Thanks :D:up:
