The instructions to load GWX 2.0 says it is self loading and updates the game automatically. Why when I go to JSJME does it show the mods on the left side unloaded ? What good is that ? They should be on the right side as loaded....or...is GWX 2.0 not loaded and you have to use JSJME to load the mods ?? Does everyone see this or am I alone ??

GWX gives you the option to load those mods as per your individual taste. The manual goes more in depth to what each does.

That is the beauty of JSGME and mods in general. Everyone has different likes\dislikes, as well some folk's computers cannot handle some of the more intensive mods. So in the end you install what you like and also what your computer can handle.

...and the beauty of the GWX 2.0 installer, it is all done for you, you just pick and choose which additional MOD you would like to add. The cats pajamas if you ask me!

Happy Hunting!

Hi! We'll clarify the first paragraph of the GWX Manual with new text to say the following:GWX includes several "optional modifications" that are ready to be enabled using JSGME. GWX installs the latest version of JSGME (v2.0.1) and its help file (JSGMEHelp.txt) to your Silent Hunter III folder as part of the installation procedure - please consult this help file for details on using JSGME. The GWX installation procedure does not enable any of the optional modifications by default when it installs GWX; you can enable any or all of these optional modifications simply by running the JSGME tool.

But when I play it looks like GWX2.0 is already there. This was a new install so why wouldn't I see just the original SH3 without the addons ? I was under the impression that GWX 2.0 makes all the changes automatically. Now you are saying that nothing has been updated. I will try to add the updates via JSJME and see if some thing changes....

There are many updates in 2.0, but as per usual some of them have been provided as optional mods.

Well, why isn't everything optional? I want to see 10,000 listings in my folder.

(I know, I know: the ultimate option is don't use it):p

If you have installed GWX, then yes, it's already there. The mods you see unloaded are extra mods that come with GWX. You can enable the ones you like or leave them all disabled, either way GWX is there.

It shows it because I am an idiot !!! I have now read the manual and understand that those are other optional addons.

WHERE CAN WE GO TO COMMEND THOSE WHO HAVE PROVIDED US WITH THIS EXCELLENT UPGRADE. THE MANUAL IS FANTASTIC. YOU GUYS ARE THE BOMB....

No post or question is dumb, only those not asked. I'm sure someone else has wondered about the extra mods for GWX found in JSGME as well.

Which is why I dont understand why the contact tails and a lighter night sky (if someone could develop this) for us older LCD users cant be a JGMSE "option". I was pretty much told by Kpt. Lehmann that this would give too many options and generate too many questions to the GWX dev team. To me it would seem this would LIMIT questions (all the threads about dark nights and contact tails would be limited, and answers would be simple as "enable the xxx mod in JGMSE")

Not sure I understand this rationale, if all it would be is another optional mod selection in JGMSE...but you guys are the GWX deve team not me, so Im not going to be critical here and will accept whatever you all are willing to provide :yep: being as your doing this for FREE.
