I've a problem, and this has happen to me more then 5 times along the years..

if i save the game once, its all ok...
if i save the game twice, its all ok..
if i save the game the third time, when i try to load it again, theres no save game at all, a blank page with nothing...

is there a way to recover the save game? and theres a way to avoid this to happen? i wich i could do no save game at all, but infortunally i have another things in life to atend to, and theres almost never enough time to finish a whole patrol...

The only way round this is to keep save sequentially by saving each time to a different name:

e.g. VonM001 VonM002 VonM003 etc.

That way you can always go back in time to a previous save via the normal career loading screen. You can always delete saved games from there as well.

If you use the same Save Game name each time, I'm afraid it overwrites the existing one and there's no way back.

I'm not aware of this problem, though, but the above way of doing it would remove the chance of it happening.

Good hunting

I have noticed also game crashes after saving multiple times in the game with different names resulting in CTD when loading the savegame.... I worked around the problem like that:
1. Always name my savegames differenlty among patrols (i.e starting from a, b, c...z etc)
2. If i have to save twice in a patrol i always save above (=the same name) with my previous save in that patrol, and repeat the opreation 2 times at least before exiting to desktop
3. Save away from any type of contacts, on open sea and only when surfaced....
4. Unfortunately: Try to save only if you have to.... I always try to finish a patrol by returning to port or a milkcow....
hope this helps......

Go to your saved career in C/MyDocs, locate the file that contains the saves and add the letter 'x' after the name.
You should now be able to lcate your saves on next load up and can delete the 'x' then.
