3 patrols without a single contact? are u nutz?
you should be getting so many contacts your pc would lock up.... there are TONS of ships out there...
where are you sailing from and where are you sailing to? how long?

What GWX optional mods do you have enabled in JSGME?
I'm thinking that you may have enabled the optional location campaign files, thus removing traffic from the Atlantic theatre. Esp, true if you see no harbour/friendly traffic.
Hm. Is it possible you're using one of the alternate-flotilla submods? If memory serves, to cut down on loading times, they remove shipping from oceans other than your theater of operations.
If you don't have any of the alternate-flotilla submods active, then I don't know quite what to think.

Welcome aboard, tylerav8r.
Assuming you're using JSGME ( If not, please do - it removes so much pain ) ensure that the only campaign mod you have enabled is the "combined campaigns" one.
I'd also disable "alternate flotillas" for now, just to check that the game works.
Good hunting.

@Danlisa :o Don't want to highjack the thread, but what's with the "Retired" bit - too many pasties gone to your head?

I started a 1940 GWX 2 game and have played for about 6 real hours and 12 game days and have only met (and sunk) one ship besides the harbour traffic. I'm beginning to think something is wrong. I sailed from Lorient to AL63 to patrol then headed to the supply ship by Greenland. I found my one contact between the patrol grid and the supply ship.
I only have alternative floatillias and the 16km mod on using JSGME.

You just have to know where to look there are more ships in certain places than others (try enemy harbours). If you want ships try the english channel or scapa flow(be very careful).

hey guys.. thanks for all the help. sorry i didn't get back to you sooner.. work takes me away for a few days at a time. Anyway, after doing two more patrols and seeing no ships, i reinstalled everything. Works great now. Heh. Only one thing.. is there a way to return the map icons back to the original style? I know I know it's more realistic.. but i need a little arcade in my life.
Thanks,
T.

this brings questions for me. where can I find FAQ for JSGME or mods containing inside that goes with GWX2? Like what VIIC/41 player sub do? And how milkcow works with GWX2 between some mods in JSGME? I only have Enchaned damaged mod and 16km environment enabled, I tried click on help or about on JSGME screen, but nothing that can answer to my questions.

harzfeld:
VIIc/41 player sub changes the VIIc sub model in sh3 to look like a type VIIC/41, You only need to use this later in the war if you upgrade your sub to a VIIC/41 + Its just eye candy.
The resupply subs (milkcows) work just like any friendly port, just bring your sub alond side one and hit ESC > Exit patrol > Dock at U-???.
This is exactly the same as docking at a normal port (+you may want to use SH3 commander to reduce the days spent in base to 1, if not you will spend the default 28 days docked).
++ All of this can be found in the GWX manual.

(+you may want to use SH3 commander to reduce the days spent in base to 1, if not you will spend the default 28 days docked).
The latest version of Commander automatically changes this to 1, so you no longer have to.
Ability to recognise when docked at a milk cow or other friendly base and automatically adjust the number of days spent in base to 1*;
SH3 Commander automatically recognises if you are docked at your home base or not. If you are not docked at your home base (ie docked at a Milk Cow), SH3 Commander will change the number of days spent in base to 1 without you needing to manually change via the SH3 Options screen. You can click on the label to toggle status. *Note that extra days will be added if damage needs to be repaired.
