I'm so glad the Grey wolves added the much needed amplified compass so we can set our course with precision accuracy. However i wish you guys added an amplified depth meter too so we don't have to click around to set that 58 meters when you find yourself saying set 60 meters or 78 just as easy. It's been this way since stock and i was just wondering what you guys think about changing it the same way you did the compass. Thanks

In the meanwhile, is there something we can use? I remember using something that would amp not only the depth meter but also the compass. I don't want to try that now because the amp compass is already included. We need more feedback on this people, please say what you use. An ideal fix would be something JSGME that only amp the depth meter (compass already included in GWX 2.0) and is, of course GWX 2.0 compatible. Thanks in advance.

Anyone? What do you use? This is a major part of the gameplay. I don't remember the mod which did it nor if it were possible to modify so it does include only the amplified depth meter instead of both the meter and the compass. Anyone help please.

Many thanks! I will look into it. I hope GWX considers adding this to GWX 2.1 because it's so important for a captain to order a depth with some degree of precision.

Its not likely that gwx team with worry about that without a big petition from a lot of folks, coz to each his own...

but sure theres always guys that think like you and modify the game to their liking and share that with other people, just like i've done before... mini-mods are as important as mega-mods for some people...

about the dials, you can learn to modify then yourself, its not very hard actually... its mostly tga and cfg configurations!

I think they will do it if they have time, in 2.1 in the name of logic because we already have a big compass dial and subs move in all three dimensons, so it's logical they have the same degree of precision in setting direction and depth.

Oh and about your suggestion i did find some dials mod but the links are broken, they are prolly dated---

Well, we could just as easily argue that adding more pop-out dials is 'illogical.';)

We have no plans to add further large dials as our hands are quite full with other matters that take priority.

Also, there are other interface mod's such as OLC's for those who aren't happy with the GWX interface.

Following the release of GWX 2.1, GWX crewman 'Poorsailor' has announced his intentions to release a version of the GWX interface with large dials.

Secondarily, more included optional mods would only confuse people further and would strain user-support even further.

Thank you for replying first of all :) I'm sure not every use will want more popups and there are more important things you are working on. I was hoping you would set this in as maybe a JSGME mod, which would be optional. That way only users like myself would use it. Imagine this situation: You are in the English channel trying to make your way to the Atlantic. You are detected on a semi-shallow water and have a keel of 158 meters. You will want to be at least 140 meters deep but not so deep as 150 as that will be too deep for safety. You will need several tries before you get the 140. Another situation is the realist boyance feature which i love btw. If you are traveling slow, in order to saty at periscope depth you will need to set a manual depth of around 16 meters. This will be very hard to do with one click. You made a very good point when you said it will also clutter the desktop for people though. Haven't thought about that. Maybe it's fine the way it is. But i would still love a mod which enabled me to have bigger dials. I've found a few all dead links :( Can anyone help? Maybe you can provide fresher links? I know more people will look to download it. The one with the TDC would be sweet. Thanks.

Found the OCL's tools! Thanks for pointer Kpt. Lehmann! Looks awsome on paper i think thats all i need. I'm trying to lower the number of mods to the max. for me its GWX and Subcommand. After that i try to limit to the max so no graphic patches, hard to resist though.

OLC-GUI is wonderful, but I'm still addicted to FLB-Sales's '6-Dials Simfeeling' Mod. Not only does it make all the dials the size of the compass in GWX, it also makes everything a pop-up. The screen has nothing but the action until you want the guages, or crew, or anything.

Interesting Sailorman, might we worth looking at modifying OLCs GUI, which is superb, so that everything is pop up....i.e. only the action till you need to do something.
