Is possible to remove the water transparency effect simply changing some numbers in the cfg files? Because sometimes it gave me weird effects, and personally I dont think that the open ocean water is so clear... and then, i'm able to see my props churning under the surface...With the white foam produced by the sub we wouldnt see it:-?

It's an option under 'Graphics Options' in the SH4 game itself.

Can't tell you off the top of my head which one, so try checking and unchecking until you get it sorted.

just uncheck both, volumetric fog and enviroment effects.

This will also boost up your framerate by at least of factor 2x

If we're going to use realism as a criterion, I would turn off the external view. That way you won't see it.

That is a setting into the scene.dat file... you must to edit it.

Open the scene.dat file, using minitweaker program, go to :

General Environmental Data

Edit....

WaterOpacity = XX

I use WaterOpacity = 10, and have the effect you dont like, just rise up it up to 50, you will not see the proppellers underwater anymore.

Hi Redwine. I can't recomend using Minitweeker, because the scene.dat will be corrupted with 2 bugs after you save the file. Use S3D by Skwasjer instead to avoid making a scene.dat with jiggly water.

Is correct change this line to make the water less transparent around to the submarine or it must modify also other?
Silent Hunter 3 editor (beta 0.5.4) --> EnvData --> Properties --> WaterOpacity=10

Thanks

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to laugh at that, but they are politicians! Unfortunately we here very little about italy down under. But if your anything like Kiwis, you will understand the value of this ;)

I heard the most dangerous thing in Italy was using a pedestrian crossing :p

(sorry everyone, off topic.. leaving now :yep: )

No problems AG...the main objective of this post had been completed...

I'm happy that you hear very little about Italy! Currently ANYTHING is going right! the government crisis, Naples submerged by rubbish, political scandals,corruption...i have the impression of living in a third world country:roll:
