This is the current version of an optional loading screen for the Merchant Fleet Mod. It incorporates the original SH3 logo, as well as a derivative logo that I adopted to represent my own work.
The painting in the center is by Anthony Saunders. It shows the MV "Arthur F. Corwin". Like several other modern Allied tankers she was, ironically, constructed in Germany shortly before the war. On February 13, 1941, the ship straggled from Convoy HX-106 and was torpedoed by U-103, setting her cargo of gasoline on fire. Later U-96 (seen here) encountered the burned-out vessel and sank her with two further hits. It's not clear if any crewmen ever managed to abandon ship. There were no survivors from a complement of 46.
I created a model that was supposed to represent this ship but I got rid of it because it was not detailed enough. Maybe I can release a better version singly after the main mod is complete.
