Ok, here's the deal... Im working on a new mod and throught the files I've discovered that the game actually supports 19 torpedos in internal bow compartment and 10 in the internal stern compartment, and 10 torpedos in both bow and stern external compartments... I changed this values in basic.cfg file and the game loads normally, but when you click the torpedo loadout in the base, the game CTD... and if I try to start a mission without looking the uboat status, it loads fine, but when its going to load the graphical part "no so long ago" the game CTD... I belive that's becouse the game recognize the torpedos alright, but theres no room to display them, coz the layout of the torpedo loadout comports only 17 internal bow, 2 internal stern, 2 external stern and 6 external bow torpedos. It only "shows" that quantity... maybe if I can change it to display all 55 torpedos that the game "physically" supports, then it would load normally. Anyone can help me on how can I do this?

Perhaps would be a good idea to use Wolfie's tweak pack. :up:

This is an excellent prog, since it allows you to change the loadout, and increase the number of torpedos for each sub for every year. :up:

Quite like that... Im exchanging crew for torpedos, I've learned from u-571 that 6 crewman can operate the uboat, so theres no need for stinking useless crew, i'll get torpedos instead! All acoustics and 75 kts speed, eachone with a warhead like hiroshima, so i can take entire convoys with one torpedo each... and a new fuel cell too, compressed fuel, capable of running 72.000 miles at 40 kts, so theres no need to come back home until 500k tons... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

If you increase the load out to much then CTD. I do not use wolfie tweak since that if you do some more work on the basic and then install it again, then you have to use the Wolfies tweak again or risk CTD. But remenber that this is a sure gameplay killer:dead: You have to start making a new balance with you and the crew's Rank and medals. So renown and tonnage are in balance again:up: since you can get +200.000 tonnage every patrol:rock: Any role playing are gone down the drain since the crew and you are max out after 1 or 2 patrols:down: ... It is not so hard to tweak :hmm: but finding the right balance is:damn:

I use this one for testing and to get the grip on my manuel targeting:oops: But I really enjoy A good gameplay balance Like GWX:up: Even It tend to be on the tuff side:cool:
But I truly understand soooo many ships:o :arrgh!: and no torps:damn:

Actually thats not quite right... You get only 4 promotions per patrol, and I always start with the crappiest crew avaliable. So after 10 patrols theres still a LOT of crew that look crappy, coz 10 patrols = 40 promotions, each seaman take two promotions to get decent, so does the rest of them, and the officers IIRC are able to promote three times... so if you have a crew of 50 men, you will need at least 250 promotions to max all out, which would take 25 patrols, which for me is the whole war.

I should take as a man a say that I stand corrected:-? But I still will claim that making a super u-boot creates a new (un)balance in the game and I think that it was way to easy for the crew and me to get medals and to get a promotion. Well we all play this great game different.:rock: And I am like my crew to have a hard time getting a knights cross. :arrgh!: Beside if you are using SH3 commander then you can promote and give medals to all your crew between patrols...... But anyway I am looking foreward to try out your mod(s) and see if there are some new ideas or a different balance that will enhance the gameplay for me:D

In regard to the loadout then I realy have not tested the sterm loadout. But giving more front torps will start to cover over other stuff in the loadout picture in the office.:down: And CTD. Read wolfies manual and he will allso write about max loadout. Check out how much ammo you have for your guns...... Or use mini-tweaker to change the damage off the different shells, bombs, guns and torpedo's:o GWX have less torps damage than stock....... Harder gameplay:smug:
