HELP regarding SH3 Commander

I am trying to modify my en_menu file so that the "press the attack" and "keep up the good work" messages will be replaced with something more dynamic.

this has worked for me as long as i dont load via SH3 Commander, because SH3 commander inserts the text "Loaded via SH3 commander" and saves the "en_menu file in its default condition suddenly my modified messages go away.

In the SH3 Commander CFG file it says that the line of text can be removed if the default is preferred but i cannot edit and then SAVE this file... access is denied.

any help?

I've an idea; unfortunately I'm in the middle of a patrol and can't test this.

In the folder where you have installed SH3Commander look for the file "SH3Cmdr_en.txt". Try inserting the string numbers and text you want there. That should have it load up when Commander runs.

edit: actually after a bit of looking around the file that's likely the one to edit is Static settings.cfg in the Cfg folder.

The line that SH3 commander changes is this.

13=Loaded via SH3 Commander. Good hunting!

The actual radio messages down below that you changed... SH3 commander doesn't change. At least, it doesn't change it on mine. I checked with commander rolled back and not rolled back.

Question, did you make the changes to the menu file with commander rolled back to start with? Because if you changed it with commander rolled on then possibly that?

Bets money he will say "I always roll back commander when I am done"

i think it was a rollback issue... im working with it at the moment and it seems to be working fine. ill let you know after a couple of patrols and separated runnings of SH3.

on a related note.... never alt tab out of SH3 to make a quick post on subsim when it is November of 1943 and you are on the surface.

I'm not sure what you mean by "more dynamic" but I use the ramdom feature of SH3Commander to get a different message each time I load via SH3Commander.

I've been using the following entries in the Sh3 Commander Randomizedevents.cfg since GWX1.1.
