Full 3D Immersion

Hi everybody,

Anyone knows how I could supress the functions bar on the left on the screen in order to force me to use the 3D view only in the sub. I.e, to use attack periscope, be forced to go to coning tower, to go on the bridge, be forced to climb the ladders usw...
That would make me very happy.

I think someone did a mod disabling certain functions, but I don't remember exactly. I never use the side-bar; I used to use the keyboard but now I just click-and-point. Sometimes it's handy to be able to jump to the TDC screen, but now OLC's GUI mod makes that unnecessary as well.

I'm not being judgemental - honest - but why not just do like Sailor Steve ( and I ) and get into the habit of not using the side-bar? It's great fun, especially when you have to run between the bridge and the Navigator's position to consult the chart, then back up to the bridge etc. Just because it's there doesn't man you have to use it.

Some of us just don't have that level of self control. I wanted this exact same mod when I started playing, so I made it. I never released it though.

pino69, removing the shortcuts bar isn't enough in itself - you also need to add all the missing "go back" functions as there are several screens (e.g. the UZO) which you can't get out of in the default setup.

Fortunately this has come up many times before so if you search for "goback" (all one word) you should find the info you need :up:

I've tried using the 'goback' functions without much luck. I'd love to be able to right-click out of the attack scope screens.

Slightly off topic, but I'd also love it if hitting any dive key would default the view to the conning tower rather than the control room, as that is the first place you get to. Now I always right-click from the bridge to the tower before I hit Periscope Depth or Crash Dive.

Using these specifications and SetKey tricks, I managed to get rid of the interface, the shortcuts and to activate the goback command.SO, that's OK for the moment.One regret : the right click for goback is definitely not functionnal in someviews like 2D maps, and periscope view...

Be aware though that any installation of new mod leads to redo the manip because of new comment-en.cfg and menu_1024.ini files.
