In my edition there are only black & white pictures on 12 pages [from over 800].
Rest is text and statistic tables. This is book to read:yep: The books are hardback.
Almost each patrol of u-boat is presented by author. :arrgh!:

Though I wouldn't quite compare Clay Blair's books to the HOLY Bible... the two works certainly constitute the "U-boat Bibles."
Those two works, along with the U-boat commander's handbook, have been ABSOLUTELY INSTRUMENTAL in presenting the level of historical accuracy that we've presented in GWX.
Can you pleae set the links for the 2 Lutzow books and Kapt L. Hand book ???:yep:

Actually, the second book I referred to was the U-boat commander's handbook 1943 edition as translated by the U.S. Navy.
That being said, the second one you linked to is PURE GOLD as well.
HECK! It even has maps of every U-boat CONSTRUCTION YARD!!!:o :o :o
Truly amazing... vast quantity of technical information on U-boats INCLUDING WWI.
has anyone seen any other uboat works by Edwin Gray (The U-Boat War 1914-1918). He did a really nice piece on the WWI sub war. Covered both the Atlantic and the Med.
Gave some particularly interesting stories.
Loved the one where a uboat commander captured a British submarine with a rowboat, a cook and some fishing line. The commander got a lot of free drinks and meals with that one.

About this book, never quite understud why, in some amazon sites, they sell it above 200€ +/-, and in others, about 75-80€. The link puted here by jimbuna is one of those.
Thanks. I'll start saving.
I came across a 194x's USN issued hardback listing of all US Subs (kpt, crew list, patrols and where sank if applicable). It included roughly where the sub went down. In the aft tables, it has all the German & Japanese boats sunk, including (Lon & Lat, kpt, surivors, who killed it). I sent a spreadsheet in a long time ago to SubSim when they were looking for a few lost uboats, based on that book.
BTW, one heck of a site you guys have here. Unbelievable depth of material, knowledge and mod skills. WOW! Thanks for making my fun even better.

It all depends on where you can get it from. That link is from Amazon.com. I purchased a copy kust prior to xmas from Amazon.co.uk and paid more....for a second hand copy because there were no new ones to be had in the UK.
Another example would be the two volume Clay Blair books.
A number of years back I could only get one volume from the UK and the other from the US.
The UK one was 3 times the price :yep:
