See that post first : http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=743652&postcount=497

I have updated the file available on my filefront account, it is basically the same as in the original post except that I changed the "starting position" of the dragable stopwatch, to make it fit better to OLC's GUI.

Starting position (top right) :

Drag the tweety bird :

And that's it. The only issue with this positionning is if you drag the stopwatch from its starting pos while you're in the watch-periscope view, it will toggle the flag chart at the same time. Doesn't really matter does it ? :hmm:

As previously stated and advised in the title, all credits go to the original authors, ie OLC JonZ and GWX team, I simply made it for my own use and thought it would be worth sharing.

Links don't work.:cry:

Still doesn't work. I would very much like this mod. :yep: :D

Could someone put this up for d/l? :D Link is still dead.

@ Mikhayl;

A fine idea with a draggable stopwatch, BUT itīs at the Obs-scope/UZO I really would want to have the function to start and stop.

I use the Ubermod 2.4.2 and always use the obs scope with its high magnification to get an early estimate on the target speed. Having the posibility to start and stop at these stations would make my job far easier.;)

I see no point having a draggable at the attack station.:hmm:

(Today I wait until the target touch the vertical line at Obs-station, press F3 to reach the attack station to start the clock and then return to "obs" only to repeat the procedure as the target stern leave that vertical line. => I dont get enough accurate readings according to my taste.)

Cheers

Shame about the dead link

I believe it is possible to add the draggable stopwatch to the various stations by manually adding some additional script via Wordpad/Notepad to the "dials.cfg" and "menu.cfg" files.

I must admit I haven't tried it myself but someone might like to give it a try to see if it works, rather than waiting for the d/l link to be fixed.

Try this and let me know if you have any problems. I ran a quick test on my machine and if all works well then I will put it up with a proper readme.

JSGME ready file.

Much appreciated Mikhayl.
I assume it also works with OLC GUI Special, right?

I think so, as far as I know only the scope magnifications/optic settings are changed (and minor things for the AOB finder). But nothing that should interfere with adding the stopwatch. Just make sure you modify the files that belong to the GUI Special mod instead of other mod's .ini/.cfg's.

Yeah it should be fine as long as i configure the correct files ; point taken.

Yes there should be no problem. Think of it as an overlay, it doesn't really modify OLC GUI (special or not), it only adds (rather puts back) the stopwatch so it should work with any past current and future version of the GUI :yep:

Thanks.:up:

Sorry for dragging this old thread up from the grave but the link that Gairith provided is now dead and I recently re-installed SH3 with OLC and I miss my trusty old wooden stop watch. Anyone who still has this and can re-upload it?

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

No offense meant to you, it just hit me as funny. I have it and was going to upload it to Subsim Downloads just for you. But first I looked to see if it was already there.

Not laughing at you, just laughing because it's specifically listed as being for OLC_GUI! :har:

Silly how that happens sometimes.
