Hi, after a lot of searching for a tweaker file for GWX 2 version of the mixer file I gave up & made my own, limited to only the tweaks I needed to do!:yep:
Please read the documentation for more info but I will say I am pleased with some of the effects::smug:
1) The clock can be heard quetly in the command room and going to various stations (compartments) the sound is much quieter & some not heard at all, still all in stereo!
2) The torpedo opening is now heard & the sounds of opening and firing combinations work correctly due to the right mix of 2 files & mixer settings.
3) This is from my very early sound pack: The commands given to the chief are syncronized to mouth movements & Das Boot speech still heard.
4) There are several alternate depthcharge sounds to choose from or to use with SH3 Commander random folder.

Many other sounds, if there are some you don't like then just remove, the file is just over 20 megs in 7z format, can be downloaded here:
http://files.filefront.com/AlternateSFXPackForGWX2+2b7z/;10055125;/fileinfo.html (http://files.filefront.com/GWX+2+Alternate+sound+2b7z/;9438988;/fileinfo.html)
Credits: Many thanks to the GWX team for their excellent AddOn, & thanks also to Timetraveller for his tweak program, 95% of the sounds are done by me taken from various movies, and edited with Sony Sound Forge, a few however I'm not sure where they have come from, many thanks to those people & if there are any that are recognised please let me know.:D
Cheers.

No real need to reply Kpt, you have all the details, you can either make the adjustment or leave as is! I certainly understand that you are very busy.:yep:
Cheers.
PS. Such a shame about Dave!

PS. Such a shame about Dave!

So true.

Like watching a plane crash from the ground. There's nothing you can do to stop it. He was such a supremely nice guy.

Hey Reece :)

Any chance of a more extensive description of what sounds have been changed? Is the engine louder? The nearly-inaudible engine in GWX has always irked me. Also does is get rid of that loud RING RING sound and, if not, is it compatible with the recently released mod which does that?

Thanks!
OLC

Since Kpt. Lehmann pointed out that the sound mixer file is different in the "GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects" mod Please download the following file, follow the instructions in the readme:
http://files.filefront.com/Enhanced+Damage+effects+serar/;9444229;/fileinfo.html
Hope this is acceptable to the GWX team.:yep:
@ OLC:
Here is a list of the sounds:
Ambient Wind
Ticking Clock
Ambient creaking - all 4 levels (no coughing etc)
Various Depthcharges surface & underwater
Dive sequence
Various Ship explosions
Shell explosions
Torpedo explosions
Sonar
Sparking
Torpedo Opening
Torpedo Firing
Various speech & crew cheers.
The telegraph ring is not there with these added speech files, I am currently searching for a good engine telegraph "Ching" sound, the GWX version sounds too much like a telephone ring, but the basic sound is a good idea.:yep:
Hope this helps.

On closer examination I found that a lot of my files were missing, that's what happens when I rush into it! Post #1 has been updated, note the file size is now over 40 megs.

Reece mate, does it include alternative "torpedo hit" cheers in german ?

It is compoulsory part of simulation, but it would be "refreshing"... to change it from time to time...

@ Julius Caesar, the address is now correct, it was before, but some problem with FF!:yep:
@ Adriatico, includes 2 different cheers, done with whistles & yeh's, sorry I don't know German so I wouldn't know if it was or wasn't correct!
Also includes different ambient interior sounds.

Is it suposed to be?

When we put on this alternate sound mod is it best to first remove the *enhanced damage mod* from gwx. In other words am i right in thinking we should not use both of them together.
Thanks Gentlemen

Sometimes FF will delete files because of inactivity. They send you an email warning you that they will be deleted within 4 days. The nice thing about FF is that you have the option to sign into your FF account and cancel the deletion.

Thing is I got no notification, that is what is wierd, I've been working on it for a while and never noticed it gone, but must have been for quite some time though, oh well!
Currently re-uploading the GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects version!:yep:

Done: http://files.filefront.com/AlternateGWX2EnhancedDamand7z/;10055494;/fileinfo.html
This file is 28meg in 7z format, there are a few more files in the first main version, so if you want the Enhanced Damage version with all files just copy the data folder of this version over the first version data folder, should be good to go!:yep:
