I know a while back there were some mods that added different backgrounds and rings to the radar. I'm not sure if they were compatible with 1.3. My question.....is there a mod for the radar rings that is compatible with 1.4?

Here, not sure if it works with 1.3 or 4, I did use with 1.2. It is JSGME ready, you could always try it and see what happens. If it does not work, uninstall.

Did more testing besides some single missions and haven't had any problems.
Another great addition.
Hmmm. When I install, I get both the mod PPI overlay -and- the stock overlay at the same time... one superimposed over the other, so to speak.
Any ideas?

The mod wasn't designed for 1.4.

the radar post-1.4 seems to be using some other resource than the ppiCircles.dds...
you'll also note that the stock 1.4 ppiCircles.dds alpha channel has a very nice graphic with "hand written" numbers that's sadly not being used...
so the question is: where's the dds for the 1.4 ppi radar display?
The mod wasn't designed for 1.4.
Yeah, I know. But with Fincuan and Fireball reporting success, I was hoping it was me doing something wrong.
The "any ideas?" question is aimed at anyone who might know what I might do differently to make it work, or where to start looking for a solution to the problem of making it 1.4 compatible, yeah?

The mod seems to work fine with 1.4. Not sure how to read the ranges using the rings, but you do have the PPI radar for that. Does anyone know how to keep the radar on constant sweep? I think it is on constant sweep, but when you click to another screen and return to the radar screen it is not sweeping the screen and you have to click the continuous sweep button again. It would be nice if it kept sweeping until told to shut off.

My experience is that it stops sweeping when you go to view the radar, but when you leave that position it will start sweeping again. I think they modeled it after the sound station, which does the same thing.

Hi Kirby It's like the age old question.... Does a tree make any noise falling if no one is in the forest to hear. :D

Not sure how to read the ranges using the rings
Some example math:
Say you're on 20,000yds scope, a contact is at the fifth ring, and you have eight rings all told. Break out your calculator and punch in "5/8(20,000)", which will arrive at 12,500yds.
Adjust the input information as necessary for whatever the situation.
... Not sure how to read the ranges using the rings, but you do have the PPI radar for that. ...
You have left block with A-scope display for reading range ...
1) you find out targets (sweep mode) on PPI-scope ...
2) switched to focus mode and manually direct radar beam at any target ...
3) read on A-scope distance up to the target ...
Finita ...
