Wished I had a chanse to take a closer look at it, but nooo... I had to do my military service in the army... sleeping and freezing my ass of in the forest... fun fun fun :D

One problem I see with such a base is: your enemy (?) could mine the entrances and all ships and subs would be stuck...

Well, Sweden have some 2500 km of coustline, and this is only one of several installations, even though Musko is by far the biggest, so it would not be all that easy to find. (the first line of defence). Of course, our "enemy", most likely knew where to find these bases, so the second line would have been anti-submarine defence, like nets, sonar, costal patroll boats and so on.

By the way, You can compare with the airforce. In case of war, we got lots of "highway" airbases, the aircrafts are deployed all around, instead of beeing based the regular AF bases, the mpst obvious targets. The army, is the same, the material is stored deep the forests, all ready to use.

Today, the swedish armed forces are downsized, quite a bit actually, we have to rely on Finland...;)
