Excluding ships (contacts) in the harbors, does the Light Harbor Mod included in GWX 2.0 change or reduce contacts anywhere else? Tried the Light Harbor Mod out for a couple of patrols and it just seems there are less contacts over all. Any comments?

The lite Harbor mod does nothing more then reduce what you would see in the harbors area where you leave from and return to.

If you saw less shipping on the open sea?
Bad Luck on you Mate!!
I'll tell you a secret!! SHHHHH!!
(Ain't always gonna be shipping in yer area!!!)

Thanks for your quick answer to my question. That's what I figured.

It just shows how realistic this game has become; to go days on end without a contact. To listen on the hydrophone for the faintest sound, what a remarkable game we now have!

Quite often U-boats would return from a patrol without sighting or seeing anything http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

When I try to enable the Lite Harbor Traffic mod for GWX 2.0 in JSGME, a box pops up with the following message:

"Campaign_SCR.mis" has already been altered by the "GWX - Merged Campaign" mod

In GWX 1.03 I always enabled the Lite Harbor Traffic mod to ease the strain on my aging 'puter. However, since GWX 2.0, I have always refrained from enabling it for fear it might cause a conflict. Is there any basis for my concern?

Play safe.......disable all JSGME enabled mods, perform a rollback and enable Lite Harbour mod first. Any further warnings/messages you can safely ignore, all you are being informed of is the fact a previous enabled mod has already performed the same operational change.
All mods that came with GWX 2.0 are compatable with oneanother http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

You get a warning as you have already enabled one set of campain files ( merged ) and now want to enable another
Disable the merged then enable the Lite campaign files

Could someone do an upload off the GWX 2.0 Campaign files and the light version of the SCR layer please?!

SCR and RND would be enough for me, i'd like to give them a try without installing the big package just to get the campaign files.

If the GWX staff is afraid of releasing those files to the public for whatever reason perhaps someone would be so kind to send those files by email??

I give you my word it's for my personal pleasure only, atm for example i'm using the NYGM 2.6 campaign files without having the mod installed.

For guys like me who loves cherry-picking stuff out of the big mod packages and doing other evil deeds it's hard that GWX is only available as a total conversation of the game and impossible to install over this great mod enabler programm. But i guess there're good reasons for this kind of distribution.

Please don't diss me for not wanting to install the whole mod - first reason is my machine just can't handle it. :p

Thanks in advance and a happy new year!!!

Gammel,

It is nothing to do with you or NYGM etc.

The problem is that for the campaign files to work, you must include Sea, Library, Air, folders etc etc etc... for the campaign files to work correctly.

Everything is connected rather like a spiderweb moreso now than ever before. What you ask requires a great deal of work and rechecking to do correctly.

This is one reason of many that determine how or why we do things the way we do. Nothing more complicated than that. Nothing to do with 'dissing' anyone.

Thanks for the info, Jimbuna. Why I'm getting the message is a bit of mystery to me as I never got it with GWX 1.03. Prior to installing GWX 2.0, I did a fresh install of SH3 patched to 1.04, got rid of the SH3 in My Documents, and followed the GWX installation instructions to the letter. I did the MultiSH3 thing, setup an SH3 Commander strictly for GWX 2.0 and put the switch in for SH3 Commander multiple installs. I had no mods enabled in JSGME when I started GWX 2.0. I will do as you suggested and, afterwards, ignore the message to see what happens.

Disable the merged then enable the Lite campaign files

Thanks BBW, would I then re-enable the "merged" campaign files (I did not do this knowingly) after enabling the Lite Harbor Traffic mod?

Cheers Kpt. Lehmann,

i'm aware of that the units requested by the campaign files have to be present in the game - same had to be done making the campaign files i'm currently using working.

Just read an update to GWX is available soon - will wait for that and give it a try.

I was just kidding talking about dissing :arrgh!:

look at my weired game setup - lol

looks funny but it's stable and lightweight.

So i have the great campaign files from one of the supermods (would really like trying the others...)
with a game mostly based on stock game files.
Hehe i'm bit silly - everytime i have the game running stable i have to change something => horrible crashing is for sure after that. :p

I further dislike most of the changes the big mods NYGM WAC and GWX did with game data files but love what they did with the campaign.
Haven't tried GWX 2.0 so far, played the others with some patrols done on an "untuched setup" of the mod to get it's spirit.
All i can say - there's no better one than the others - each of the three has it's strenghts and weaknesses.
Unfortunately my Computer is not up to date any more so it has hardly run gwx 1.03 - i'm afraid how GWX 2.0 will perform.
15 Min loading time and timecompression at 128 max is just not acceptable to me.

But i was jealous when saw those beautiful screenshots with all the pretty new units doing cute things in the campaign.
