View Full Version : Decorations for sinking warships versus decorations for tonnage?

Having played heavily modded Silent Hunter III for a long time, I have always found it odd that I will not be decorated for sinking warships - instead, decorations only come from pure tonnage. Historically submariners (of all countries) were decorated for sinking enemy warships; and especially well decorated if the warship happened to be a major one, such as in the case of Günther Prien when he sank British battleship Royal Oak - Prien received Iron Crosses of both class and Knight's Cross.

So, is it possible to mod Silent Hunter III in a way so that the player can get decorated for sinking enemy warships? Of course, the decoration/s the player receives would depend of the warship he sank (don't expect to be decorated with Knight's Cross for sinking an enemy light cruiser/destroyer).

Use Sh3 Commander, you have total control over who gets what decoration, plus it allows you to do a lot of other great things. When I sink a major warship the entire crew gets an Iron Cross.

As already stated by Samwolf, SH3Commander is an ideal platform to use for rewarding your crew after exceptional patrols http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/thumbsup.gif
