View Full Version : GWX V2.0 Open Hatch and Scope Position

Have no problems with this new (very excellent) version, but I prefer to have the open hatch with the Ob periscope in the stock position...takes up too much space in the control room (as it did in real life, I know) with the default install. However I'm having trouble loading the Type VII_open_hatch_peri_stock file - had no problem setting this up in earlier versions. When I do try to load it the radioman and sonarman disappear and the view of the sonarscope is messed up. So I uninstall using the JSGME software and things in radio room and sonar room are fine, but the scope is back in the default position almost directly in front of the helmsman.
Any suggestions, or do we stay with the default as is?

The "open hatch" mod will undo/break the new interior designs in GWX2.0.

An updated version is being worked on, but currently unavailable.

Thanks to all for the responses, but we seem to have some disagreement. In one case the open hatch will trash the interior views, in another the order of installation works ok, and Jimbuna displays the scope in the 'correct' position, with the hatch open. Hmmm.

I have tried using all versions in various orders...I think. Will go back and try again, Mikhayl.

Jimbuna, I can get the hatch to display "open" as you show, with the scope as you show, but then the radioman and sonarman are gone when viewed from the Captains bunk and the sonar scope is screwy when you try to use it. And, what I would really prefer is the hatch open with the scope in the stock position, aft, to get it out of the way with, of course, the radioroom and sonarroom in good shape. That I cannot accomplish.

Maybe d@rk51d3 gives the best advice...hang tight and wait for someone to get a "certified" version that will work seamlessly with V 2.0

I went back to the original Open Hatch thread that I thought I was current with. Looks like my problem is not unique and that Diving Duck will address it - should have gotten caught up with the original thread before posting my query and wasting everyone's time. Sorry about that...especially Jimbuna...you've got enough on your plate without duplicate forum messages. Mea culpa. Let's drop this thread and just wait for DD rather than clutter the forum.

What I have postd is what I believe you should see released after the holidays.....the hatch open, with the scope in the correct position and the radio operator and sonar guy 'in good shape'.
I cannot say any more at the present because it is not my work. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

It works just fine with V 2.0, if you do it properly. I should have known. When I put the hires file into JSGME first, followed by the open_hatch file, and finally by the open_hatch_stock file (all for the Type VII) it works just fine. Open hatch, scope aft, sonar and radio men in place.
My error entirely.
Sorry to bother everyone.
