View Full Version : Problems with: Mouse Speed / auto dive / Bearing Overlay

Hi Ladies!

Please pro SH3 freaks, help me if you can with a few problems:

1.) My mouse speed does not satisfy me: In periscope views or binoculars view it is much too fast, but the mouse pointer ist too slow. If I lower the speed in the mouse driver, my mouse pointer is much too slow to play, but the periscope view is still rather fast. And vice versa. Flak moving is too fast to aim accurately.

2.) Independent from the mouse speed (even if mouse speed is set very slow), I have trouble with aligning the target cross in the periscope view with the waterline. Most of the time I can not move the Periscope pixel by pixel up and down, the view "jumps" always maybe 5 pixels if I move the mouse. Very annoying if you dont have much time to do the target solution.

3.) In my GWX 1.03 install, my boot dives automatically if a plane is spotted. I dont like that, I would like to decide myself what the boat should do.

4.) I use GWX 2 now with OLC and Pato's 3000 m Bearing Overlay. The distances of the Bearing Overlay are wrong, where the Overlay has its outer circle (at 3000 m) the distance from my boat in fact is 4700 m! Measured with the ruler.

Please help, thx and merry christmas.

Hi Realplayer,

1.You can alter the view speed by holding down the "control" key slower or "shift" key faster when moving the mouse.

3.When on patrol press "options" key and you can then "reset default actions".

Sorry Realplayer,

3. Not "options" key, drunk again.

Press "ESC" key and you can then "reset default actions"

Thx Bad Wolf for this hint.

Any other solutions for my problems maybe? :hmm:

Realplayer,
1 & 2 may be related to inadequate RAM.
3 Reset with options.
4 Is this the same at all zoom levels?

I agree with irish1958 on 1 & 2. If you give information about your system - video card, ram etc then someone might help.

2 GB RAM
Win XP SP2
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600
Nvidia 8800 GTX
Razer Copperhead Mouse (maybe the mouse driver is the problem?)

I really have many FPS, thats not the problem. SH3 runs very smooth. But aligning with waterline is not easy, like there is an invisible grid and the periscope crosshairs jump only from grid point to grid point ...

Changing mouse driver settings did not help ... :shifty:

...Razer Copperhead Mouse (maybe the mouse driver is the problem?)...
I think so...
Try to disable that special 'Razer Copperhead Mouse Driver' and use only the WinXP mouse driver whilst SH3 is running. Maybe that's it... :hmm:

Succeeded?

ad 1.: I could handle this with settings in razer driver

ad 2.: could not change this, but pressing "ctrl" helps very much.

ad 3.: When on patrol press "options" key and you can then "reset default actions". Did not know that. It works.

ad 4.: Could not solve this problem. Using 1500 m overlay now, it is really 1500 m. Would prefer the 3000 m overlay ...

Thx to everybody who tried to help me. :p
