I am 8th patrol, in Grid AN 38, found a Barco S, he attacked me with machine gun shots, I got right shots with cannon, She's Going Down! but didn't it sink and didn't it consist in my list of sinkings??? Are enemy submarines only how figurative??

It was a BUG in the game, tonnage Barco S appeared at the end of the patrol, stranger it is that the Barco S didn't sink, it was stopped, two watches in the command tower as if they were in patrol.
Don't enemy submarines in patrol dive when they sight U-boat?

In GWX 1.2
They stay surfaced but with two torpedoes dive to the bottom. :88) :arrgh!:

No sir. It is not a bug. It is the limitation of the code.
Until very recently, no AI submarine can dive from the surface in SH3.
GWX Dev Team member 'Privateer' was the first to discover how to make them dive. However, once submerged other problems remain for these diving AI subs. Until these issues are fixed, there will be no diving AI subs released by the GWX dev team.
Also, when you torpedo an AI Submarine, it will usually take a long time to sink. We had to make the damage model as such because of other limitations relating to Silent Hunter III.
Again, what you describe is NOT a GWX bug.... but is a limitation of code instead.
Try to remember, that we are modifying a game that is three years old now.
If you have never played stock SH3, it will be hard for you to understand. Many many improvements have been made, but some things may prove to be impossible in the end.
It isn't so bad now. We can fix many things, but some quirks in SH3, we will have to learn to live with.

Thank you friend
I understand the limitations of the game now, that was my first enemy submarine
The game is wonderful, congratulations for the work.

During a mission with GWX 1.03 i contacted a Gato class fleet boat, (1943 north-east of Cape Finisterre)....From a distance of about 1500 mt, I fired a spead of four torpedoes. After few minutes , one of them hit the large submarine, wich sank within ten minutes. I watched the patrol log and it was all OK- ship sunk!, gato class etc. 1500 tons etc.
I have encountered just only one submarine while playing GwX 2.0 so far, a british T class that I missed with a spread of four eels....so I cant say nothing.
One thing that upset me is the total lack of aircrafts...4 gwx2.0 patrols during late 40-mid 41 and my boat havent encountered any bee yet!

Rest assured aircraft are out there......Especially if you keep your tc below 128.
Many many hours were spent on testing and tweaking the aircraft.....They may not be as prolific as 43 onwards, but they are out there :arrgh!:

Is this strictly a "Barcso S" class bug? I torped a plain old "S-Class" and she sank full on. Is there a difference between the two classes?

My current patrol has me about 300km west of Gibraltar in a type IX, October 1941 im getting buzzed every few hours on the surface during daylight and have had a couple of real close shaves! Crash dive from one air attack resulting in damaged flak and tower. I stay under for around an hour or two then decide to surface. Forgot to check for aircraft with the scope and came splashing to the surface only to be strafed by two Hurricanes just as my watch crew stumbles into the tower! My poor boat sprung minor leeks in 4 compartments! The aircraft havent had it all there way - my flak crew got one Anson that showed its broadside after an attack run

The AI subs do sink....much depends on how much damage is sustained and the sea state etc......Pretty much like the ships :arrgh!:

Also, when you torpedo ....
Wait a moment... does this mean.... your team keeps on ?
...and one day.... maybe... wulfpacks
