So I have been working on a Mod that would allow us to promote our crew past Lieutenant. there is actualy more than one way to do it, each has it's plus and minus. So these are the Choices for what its worth, the easiest and best in my opinion to make it to where you can promote crew to Commander the down side to this is only that you loose the Crew management picture of CPO in favor of Officer so I.E. your Officer's and CPO's will both have to use Officer pics, the other option is the same with the exception that Lieutenant jg, Ensign and CPO all use CPO pics, and there is also the option of going all the way to Admiral but all pics past LT will be of Sailors. So would any one have a desire for this mod? if so which one would be the best option?

Honest opinion? I see no reason to promote crew beyond the rank of Lt. In RL, a crew member promoted to Lt CMDR would have been immediately transferred off the boat.
The crew related mod *I'd* most like to see would be some way to implement crew rotations at the conclusion of each patrol. As war time production stepped up from 42 onward, upwards of 1/3 of an experienced crew complement would be rotated to new construction and replaced with recruits. I've been doing this manually using a formula I devised for myself (and the honor system... it can be painful to push the button on that stud torpedoman I've had with me since patrol #1 when his number comes up :-?) to randomize the process somewhat... but some way to make this automatic would be very cool.
Not sure if that's something that could be modded however. In SH3, crew management was done using an external app called SH3 Commander. Sure wish we had an SH4 Commander or equivalent.

Someone was working on it but I think they gave up. at any rate what is your formula? I kinda do the same thing but I have no solid way of doing it. Also the reason for the promotion aspect is that as we make commander and captain it just seems a little awkward to have a lt as xo. I'm not sure how hard or easy it would be to mod that aspect though I will look into it.
It's fairly simple... mostly just to lock me into a rotation so I don't "accidently" fudge it in my favor :)
When ever I end a patrol, I go to the crew management screen by clicking on the crew picture on the desk in the office. I take the last digit in the current renown value (upper left of the crew management screen) and start counting from the upper left crew position and progress across the top row until I hit that number. That's the first guy I whack.
Then in 1942 I plan on losing ~25% of the crew... or 1 out of every 4. So from whack #1, I count 6 <whack> then 3 <whack> then 5 <whack> then 4 <whack>, and keep going with that series - left to right, top to bottom - until I get to the last guy, usually the AA gunner.
If it's '43 or later I simply adjust the formula for a 1/3rd crew rotation.
Then, after all the whackings are finished, I apply promotions to the remaining crew to see where I am. I suppose I should apply promotions first - before I determine who's getting whacked - but there it is... a little leeway I allow myself. :)
Next, I back fill from the base repple-depple using only ZERO cost replacements. Sometimes, a guy I just whacked shows up in the pool at ZERO cost (they go into the pool as soon as you let them go, but you can tell because their stats show 1 or more patrols completed). If that happens I usually pass them by. That means all my back fills are either grade 1 or grade 3 seamen, or grade 10 officers (ensigns).
The only time I violate that ZERO cost replacement policy is if - after the whackings - I'm short of CPOs. I typically keep a minimum of 1 CPO in the engine room and 1 in each torpedo room. So if I need one I'll spend the renown to get one.
Doing this with the crew keeps things interesting and saves renown points for sub upgrades.

When I attempt to enable this Uniform mod, it states that "CrewSystemsManagement.dds" has already been changed by "ALL MEDALS CLASSIC CREW1.1" mod. Can I ignore this, or must one choose which one of these two mods one wants enabled? One or the other?

You may ignore it and it will simply take the place of the one you see in your game up until this point, (its refering to the way your crews 2d pictures look well as , medals and rank insignia that are displayed in the Subs Crew management screen F10) try the new one and see which you like best, if you don't like the one in the mod just delete the "Menu" file in the mod and it will not ask which you want to use. however if you like the one in the mod better than let it substitute it for your old one next time you activate the mod. its all in the read me.
