My current sub is a requested VIIC from CapZap, this is yet to be named - I'll leave that to him - and it's being painted under his direction.

Just testing the water to see what'll look best on this sub. The whole sub is a bright grey, nearly white, and what was requested was straight lines; vertical, horizontal, and diagonal. So far I'm still trying to get the right look on the design.

Whatever you decide is fine, and may I do a suggestion?
Try lines first and perhaps as another test solid shapes with defined edges (triangles, polygons and/or diamonds) all irregular.
Hope you give it a thought. :up:
Since you gave me the honour of naming it, if it's Ok with you, I would like to call it "Atlantic Reaper" no matter the final outcome.

IMO it would look much more impressive (more reaper-like) with the black hull.... :hmm:

The bow shot close-up shows what's covering the skin above the waterline, it looks amazing when you look at this boat in camera mode :cool:

This is the US Navy's LCS with a fictional camo pattern, I'm going to attempt to recreate a similar pattern on a VIIC shortly :yep: We'll see how this goes.

This just goes to show you, not all skins turn out exactly as you planned... :nope:

Much to my dismay I came up with something very different than what I had planned out in my mind, but this one still kicks ass!! :rock:

The Deep Blue Rebel VIIC is one of those once in a lifetime boats, it can never be recreated on another u-boat class simply because I didn't write down the processes I used to create the hull's primary camo layer. :damn:

In the past my subs have had a rustic color black hull, this time I spent some extra steps to make it look weathered. Almost looks like it's got sea-slime growing from it :lol:


This is the first u-boat where I've ever been completely satisfied with it right from the first sea trial, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!! This is the Deep Blue Rebel VIIC:

That one was like a thorn in my side because I had to liquify all those accents by hand :nope: Tried to do something similar to it on another sub today but it didn't look as nice so I started over. I've got that sub finished but I'm gonna throttle back and relax a while before I put it up, don't want to go in to work tonight feeling lazy :shifty:

This is the second version of the Old Faithful sub that I did as a Christmas release:

Changed a few things up, most noticeable is the absence of any metal appearing on this boat. The lower hull lost it's diamond plating to a mahogany colored wood and the upper looks like a stained pine.

And that should do it for the wooden boat series, Old Faithful 2.0 is available for download :up: On to more VIIC projects :cool:

Just a thought here: for the one with desert camo, how about a dark hull? maybe it would make the tan color more flashy.

This is a boat I'm doing as a request, so the hull's going to be a greyish color and above the waterline it'll be tanned, as per the wishes I'm trying to follow :cool: Certainly won't disappoint as soon as it's released though, I'll add some personal touches that'll make it look amazing regardless of what color scheme it gets :up:

That leopard print may not be used now but it will certainly be seen later on ;)

I'm having to design my own hull plate patterns, I'm getting tired of using the same old overlay from SH3 and simply sliding my own colors in there... This is gonna be an interesting experiment when it gets done with, should look pretty sweet :cool: Pics on the way as soon as I rust it up a little bit :up:

She's got a deep sea green saddle tank, algae-like stains above the waterline and rust running from all the water holes from the bow to the stern. Pretty nice looking boat, even if it is a first for my rusting and weathering. :cool:

Shell Shocked is one of those tried tested and true paint jobs, looks like she's been thru all the gates of hell and back and still asking for more :up:
I improved the rust marks, grafted pieces of the lower hull to the saddle tank then painted them red and pulled a few other effects on it. Certainly stands out from all my other subs :cool:

She's mostly olive drab with a few splashes of lighter camo across the hull. I reworked the scheme from the saddle tanks down to look grey with hints of green as well.

She looks better in-game than these screenshots show, there's finer details that decreasing the image size took away... :damn:

Couple of months ago the site was active but had no content yet save forum messages. The above page is now gone, has bts moved again or did they (sadly) go kaput?
