ok ... i still dont have GWX2, but i started to clean up for it .. so i unninstalled everything and installed sh3 ... but when i tried to patch it to 1.4b

it says its not possible ... damn i forgot the error ... ill post it later

HI, Did you use your search for SHIII. You might still have a hidden cfg file left on the computer. That will keep you from installing 1.4b

Can you be a little more specific for the not so great with computers guys such as myself? I think I have the same problem..getting a "can't install wrong version" message. What is the specific search term?

well ... even when you unninstall the game there are some files that will remain
be shure to delete the folder SH3 on you documents folder. or simply do a search
and delete everything that has to do with sh3 .
in my case some mods where out of the mods folder ... the file that would not let 1.4b install was stuka.cfg or something similar .

HI there, hope you can help I have removed SH3 from C drive, I have cleaned it out of registry via Regedit, I have deleted the SH3 folder from My Docs, I have cleaned any mention of SH3 on my c drive.

I have reinstalled SH3, pastched it successfully from 1.1 through to 1.3, but when trying toi install 1.4b I get a message that it doesnt recognise the version of SH3 on my PC.................what the?

Any ideas I've already wasted hours on this

What exactly is patching from 1.1 through 1.3?

The only patch is 1.4 afaik?

All you need is patch 1.4b, it's cumulative, so other previous patches can be ignored. ;)

If you patch from 1.0 directly to 1.4b you also get a clean update with no error messages. When you install the other patches first, it leads to errors, although I doubt if they're critical.
