New Binocular reticle for the Kilo, based on a tank gun rangefinder reticle.
The reticle is calibrated for objetcs that are 33 or 16.5 metres long, and works ONLY in the 8x zoom position of the binoculars. To get the range measurement, focus on the target and drag the image until it fits exactly between both curved lines (Between a curved line and the vertical line of the centre for 16.5 metres targets) and read directly the approximate range in metres in the numbers right and/or left. Ranges that can be measured go from 2000 to 10000 metres.
Not causally, 33 metres is the approximate wingspan and length of a P3 Orion, and 17 metres the rotor of a MH60. Now you can have a quick check about wether they are in range for a SAm shot or not ;-)
Anyway, you can use this also for quick range estimates of any objects or parts of objects that you know are 33 or 17 metres long.
And yes, I know the lines are crap, but with the original 800x600 graphics that DW uses and no Alpha Channels to play with, you are limited to this. Sorry.
