Can't re-activate game after uninstall!! HELP

I uninstalled SH3 tonight in preparation for the GWX 2 d/l and after reinstall i can't reactivate my game with the serial # i had. I went to the starforce page and entered that and my hardware code, and it says

Attention!http://proactive.star-force.com/2.0/images/null.gif•The Serial Number entered has not been found in the server's database. Make sure the Serial Number is not mistyped and try again.


What the hell is going on here? I bought the thing and now i can't reinstall it? It says something about some deactivation code but i saw no such thing. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

By the way.. I downloaded this from Direct2Drive... not a retail copy, but digital version.

when you downloaded SH3 from direct2drive... Was there ever an exchange of money?

Uhhh yea. I bought it. I have a CD key here but it won't work anymore apparently due to starforce. Really has me pissed.

hmmm, thats strange... SH3 has never asked me for a cd key or activation code. I'm sure someone has a workaround

I assume yours is a store bought retail copy... not a download though.

I have never heard of having to enter a CD key on a game that is not Online....did you get special version or something?

Nope, a downloaded digital version from Direct2Drive. I bought it there and instead of at a store. It was an issue with starforce, but after some digging online i found a solution to it which was a patch from starforce to correct this problem. I got it installed and am now anxiously awaiting my 2.0 email :)
