Some tech help please !

Guys I have a problem on my graphics and need some help
from someone who might know how to fix this !


Ever since I have updated mi Graphic card Drivers I have a problem with my
graphics on SHIII ,

The movie loads ok, the loading screen enicial one shows correct, but when
it goes to main menu, the only thing I see its a black screen and the mouse cursor
that stays marked allover the screen when I move it !


I have tryed everything and can't see the way to fix this isue !

Can someone give me a clue on how to resolve this ?!:yep:

I cant recall but I think I had these symptoms once when I had
the Rez fixed mixed with something it was incompatable with but
im not sure if thats right it was a long time ago now.

I know I had those exact symptoms and I think I even posted on it
at the time, I will look through them and see if I can find it.

[edit] I wasnt able to locate a post on it from me but I am
certain I had it and solved it but the more I think about it
the less certain I am as to what caused it.

I had a few problems when initially playing SH3, I know how frustrating it is.

As I don't know what you have tried, I can only go through what I would do.

Maybe the game is still on the old video card settings. (guessing)

I'd try a complete uninstall cleaning out the registry and start again.

Then running the desktop in the same resolution as the game.

I'm sorry I can't help you more than this, but I hate to hear you are struggling.

Sometimes when you update the drivers these things happen. If it doesn't work with your new driver, try the "REturn to the previous Driver" option. if it doesn't solve the prob, it could mean that something more serious is going on with your card. I hope it helps. :yep:
just another thing... check the temperature of your case... if it's too hot, you might want to increase the air flow, but this is not very likely the case here.

does it happen with SH3 only? (how about SH4 if you have it?)
does it happen with a stock version SH3 too?

What graphics card are you using, what driver where upgrading to and from what graphics driver were you up grading from.

Could be a vsync issue, try foring that off. don't know until you get me more info. Also what size is your monitor and is it a LCD or CRT.

Had the same problem after installing a new CODEC für movie playback. After deinstalling everything was fine again.

I am very thankfull for all your help,

But as Rimfaxi said, it was a stupid codec install in fact,
Never happend before, but yes , ons uninstalled and the
problem was solved !

Already solved I see... I had the same problem. Was very lousy. But unisntalling codecs helped indeed.
