View Full Version : Sorry, I'm going back to 1.3 and TM there. It works.
I tried again with just a few mods. TM1.7.1 and two Row mods. Now the torpedos won't even go to the target anymore. I will wait until this is REALLY all sorted out. Thanks to all you Mod makers but there are too many inter-relationships that we are not catching. I enjoy 1.3 and TM1.6 for the time being and will mod later after ROW is compatible.
Thanks for all your work and continuing work.....
I'll be back.....

Give RFB a go if you would like. Worth a shot. I'm running it with ROW/RSRD and will add the new evasion mod by Peto. It is all in how you install the mods to make the play nice together.

Hang in there Jib01!
I'm trying to peice what works back together at the moment, its not easy with such a big change in the game:yep:
I think the best way to look at SH4 right now is that its a big WIP. After all the messing and modding this is going to be one hell of a cracking game so I just see my experiance now as all part of that testing process.
Just about to load up in a bit and hope it works ok so fingers crossed!:dead:
Don't give up! When 1.3 came out I almost wanted to go back to 1.2 and what I knew. I'm sure glad I didn't and I believe 1.4 will be even better. These guys are great at figuring these things out.

I'm with you guys about the bright future of the game. I'm still amazed at the thought that the development team is trying to keep up with the hard coded portions of the game for us. The 1.4 patch has finally given us the ability to manually plot an accurate target course on the navigation map. Their change of using the ruler with 50 unit increments (meters or yards) rather than tenths of nautical miles will really help. I've checked and the tool is right on the correct distance. Turn on the No Map Contact Update and sharpen your pencil, this is really going to be fun.

Yes sir thats easy for you to say BUT noone will tell us the correct way..I tried a few different ways and it would not work..So I'm quitting the game for awhile too frustrateing for me..Deleting it now for the space..

Why not just play Trigger by itself until folks can confirm compatability of other mods or if older mods work with 1.4. There are many impatient people here since 1.4, I don't get it, what did folks expect. All of this stuff will eventually be worked out.

Not upset clay, maybe a tad frustrated. Fire up stock, add in Trigger and it's patch and you are good to go. Or try stock with RSRD or RFB. For now keep it simple until mod compatability issues are worked out.

I guess most of the frustration is because of us in campaigns. I'm almost finished and want to get there before I make any major changes.
BTW, my campaign may be ending sooner than I thought. I'm in a tough spot right now trying to get out of it. Had to run over a subchaser because I had no more torpedos left and my hull integrity is not doing too well. I can't go below 70ft and I am in the China sea. I have 40000 tons and don't want to loose that.
I'm going to finish before I start playing around any more. That will give the devs some time to clear things up.

FYI, Sober released a very nice compilation of mods. You may want to check that out. Its a rather large DL about 199 megs but looks to have a nice blend of things including ROW, and its in one install.

I'm using just TM+RSRD and it works fine. If you can't live without ROW, then yeah, I guess you'll have to stick with 1.3 for now.
If it weren't for the change to 20km visibility, I'd go back to 1.3 for ROW, too.

my favs are RFB and RSRD (i like ROW too but i've given up
on it for now). is there any way to install a rock solid RFB/
RSRD and if i want to be really greedy ROW? i've tried just
about everybody's combination and nothing seems to work.
as soon as my boat shoves off, i ctd. works up until then
though

well i just saw this and i'm gonna give it a shot. if this doesn't work
it may be the end of me lol.
igor,
think positively, it will work fine....to find out after you JSGME the mod, try the Burma Convoy Single Mission, puts you in a fine Gato with plenty of slow movers and three very cranky, uptight DD's. Have fun! You can run that one for 3-4 hours you have a setup thats good to go. Plus its good practice.

I tried this one but was not impressed. Went back and went with my original minor mods with 1.4.1 but no TM. I'll post later. I still like the red outlines of the ships I am sinking not some dot. Also in this mod it took too many shells to sink a destroyer so I was not impressed.

Looking like you enjoy the stock version with some minor modification. TM and RFB are attempting to add realism to the game and I suspect these mods would not be to your taste. Fair enough. Fortunately the individual mods can be used and just the answer for what you are looking for in playability. In a way, that is great because you can make the game into what you like and how you like to play.

First of all TM forces you to behave like a real skipper because the AI is much better then in the stock version: No more sinking DDs with you deck gun.:rotfl:

I'd be the first to say that TMaru is not for everybody. If your new to sub sims - this is not a mod you'd want to use.
when is the alien super ray gun mod coming out?
