Now that the 1.4 patch is officially out ( http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6421019045/m/9151054216 ), I thought it would be good to start a list of the mods that work with it.
Please read each thread for each individual mod carefully. Some of the mods listed below contain parts of each mod creating a larger mod package. Make sure to read that the mod is compatible with the mods you have already installed.

the patch likely overwrote any effected mods that JSGME had in place. i would uninstall SH4, reinstall, then patch.
I would normally agree, but as I have received somewhat different advice in different replies, it may have been justified....and my posts may have alerted/reminded others not to make my mistake.
In any event, thanks to Minoos' guidance,I've recovered my baseline and installed 1.4 and will now re-enable my selected Mods.
[I still think a JSGME warning/advisory/reminder should be included in the READme for 1.4 or at least in the initial 1.4 release-related posts in all the relevant threads on these forums. It certainly wouldn't hurt]

I'm in the process of doing that as we speak. I think y'all will be very pleasantly surprised at some of the stuff that may not have been mentioned in the change list. I'll have an HTML file of all the files that are changed/added/deleted shortly. I have no way of knowing if it really means what I think it means, but there are some new sound files;) from the weapons officer.

RSRDC v104 (1.4 Compatible) will be up in shortly. Some small compatibility issues that need to be worked on.

I installed ROW textures only. Work just fine. I did not touch the files that change the inner workings of the game. We are pretty safe with the texture mods. :up:

Im tearing apart TM, and rebuilding it piece by piece. Im using this as an opportunity to trim down, repack, or combine things.
Will hopefully have it up again in the next day or so. In the meantime ive released the UI setup that TM uses.

Good news: I think I've got all the ROW pieces working.
Bad news: Patch 1.4 definitely doesn't like the current versions of RFB. Hopefully, this will be straightened out soon.

Thats because all the addresses have changed. Alot was added to the 1024_768_menu.ini file. Glossing over it, it looks like preperation for the expansion. I have it working in the TM-UI mod at the moment. its not hard to get working. Just change the address blocks to be in the new sequence.

I have tried the new patch with all the ROW files except the reflections which I suspect changes to much, dat files and so on and I haven't had any problems, infact it looks like the scene.dat which Leo has made is identical to the one in the new patch.
...and you should see the new rendering of the ocean it continues all the way to the horizont, (before the rendering of the waves and foam stopped in a circle around the sub) and looks much better than with patch 1.3.

Not exactly clear on whom you were addressing but I keep a clean copy to swap on my system at all times. This make for an easy test bed and quick and easy to install.

Ducimus is right. There's lot's of stuff to go through. The menu conflicts are the easy part. Just because you can port changes into a new 1.4 file like a sim or dat, doesn't mean you'd want to. First you have to see what the new file changed as it may invalidate a previous change or make you have to start from scratch in some areas.
Since he's MUCH more expereinced than me, you'll probably see a 1.4 TM out the door before an RFB update. And thankfully, some experienced people are on the RFB team as this will only make things go faster. It would be a lot longer if it was just me checking things out

You did such a great job compiling the list for the 1.3 compatible mods, if you're not burned out on it by now it'd be great if you could start another list like that to track and compile links to the 1.4-compatible mods (unless Bill is planning on doing it by updating the first post in this thread). I think you should keep the 1.3 list intact though (even if you stop updating it, of course), in case there turns out to be some unforseen big problem with 1.4 or just for folks who decide to stay with 1.3 to finish out their careers or just play until all the major mods and stuff catch up with 1.4.

I checked the scene.dat yesterday, and there are differences in there..
I think the 20km horizon is also modded in the scene.dat.
Will just have to wait on some news from Leo.

PULL DOWN PACIFIC MAP 1.4 - would crash going into map screen.
SH4_Submarine_Instruments - I got it to work, but it seemd to slow down my external view so i took it off....
Again as stated eailer just because some 1.3 mods may work doesnt mean its the
best idea to use them before the modder has checked that they are still needed/or
working as intended. This post just points out what will load ok with a game auto-save and what mods may need so looking at...
Note your Gameplay settings get set back to Default after the patch so dont forget to set them back to your personal preferences :)

Everyone take note: Just because mods are working does NOT mean that they are compatible. We might be undoing some of the changes that the patch has implemented. I have all of ROW (except hi-rez sea foam) and NSM 3.3 working so I can play until the mod makers go over the file changes and announce compatible versions of their work, but that does not mean that these mods are compatible. Be sure to use JSGME to enable mods so they can be easily and safely uninstalled if and when the time comes.

Be aware, we have now a horizon at 20km and the scene.dat is not changed by the patch, it still contains the value 1000 for horzion!
Until this patch that value was multiplied by 8 to get a horizon at 8km (1000*8=8000m). Some mods have changed the value to 2000 to get a 16km horizon (2000*8=16000m). I think the devs now change the multiplier to 20 (1000*20=20000m). If now a mod with its own modified scene.dat is installed, it may work but it could raise the horizon to a false value (2000*20=40000m) with unexpected sideeffects. The same might count on other values in the scene.dat:|\\

MultiSH4 does not work:damn: = unknown Filemanager.dll.
maybe that can be fix soon, please!!!!!!!
I pm'd the fine maker of that utility. Hopefully someone can contact him and see what we can do to get MultiSH4 up and running. Vital for me since I need to test on two installs. Gotta get my fix!

Relax, it will fill. The patch has been out less than 24 hours. The modders are picking through it now. Currently the two posted do work just fine. It seems ROW works just fine but Leo needs to be the judge of that. TM is being worked on and RFB as well. Need some time.

The 360 degree bearing plotter imperial seemed to work for me, but, will keep it off untill i hear otherwise. Anyone know if the 25%-more powerful torpedoes mod works and any of the SI mods (si interior, si tbt and periscope, si hud, etc, etc) thanks all.

Betterscopes 1.5.1 if you manually edit your origional menu_1024_768.ini as per changes listed in read me is fine. make sure you edit a copy of your origional & delete the one in the mod folder then add it, or problems will occure. tbt closed at start fix for menu_1024_768.ini is fine to if manually added.
all dds & texture stuff seems to works, but id stay away from anything that has a camera shader or fx file in it ,or alters the menu_1024_768.ini unless you know what your doing.
just checked mini chrono that works too if manually added, least my watches will live :)
OpacitySlider slider removed and message box transparrant works fine too if manually added.
hi all ... none of the camera mods seem to work any ideas ?

SI kit mod only changes DDS files which should all have remained the same from the prior patch no? i think swapping in DDS's will have no changes on the new set up....

Just a note for those interested in doing custom, personal captain's log entries - I managed to get it to work with Patch 1.4, even though the patch changed some of the sections dealing with the captain's log - see the first post in this thread for the updated info:

Everyone take note: Just because mods are working does NOT mean that they are compatible. We might be undoing some of the changes that the patch has implemented. I have all of ROW (except hi-rez sea foam) and NSM 3.3 working so I can play until the mod makers go over the file changes and announce compatible versions of their work, but that does not mean that these mods are compatible. Be sure to use JSGME to enable mods so they can be easily and safely uninstalled if and when the time comes.
I, from past experiences, very very much second that :hmm:
Row works but probably overwrite certain 1.4 features. We better waits for a full 1.4 compatible ROW.
As for the mods working, my bubbles FX should works without side effects. However, for those trying to use ROW regardless of new patch, it is already included into it.

I disabled my mods... I uninstalled... I reinstalled... I patched...
How do I get my mods BACK?
I copied my MODS folder onto my desktop just as a backup.
I went into the shortcut to my mod enabler and just for fun reenabled some of my great mods again. They aren't showing up in the game.
Talk to me like I'm 4... there's a reason and a solution. What do i need to do?

I think what happens when you deinstall SH4 it deinstalls JSGME and evrything that is related to it.
I just reinstalled JSGME into SH4,ran JSGME, unzipped the mods into the newly created MODS folder, activated the mods and voila: Everything worked again.

The mods should work for you SE. The only part of ROW that I do not recommend activating is the SKY and OCEAN control part of the mod. Basically the rest of the mod is texture work. I also do not use the ship reflection part of the mod. It does not seem to render to well to me.

ROW camera...I use the 2b version
ROW objects reflection
ROW textures with or without sun glare....which ever one you use
ROW special effects zones...I use stock version of this
ROW very slow clouds
ROW sound mod package
Do not install the ROW sky and ocean controls for now. I do not use the ship reflection part of the mod as I do not care for the rendering of it at a distance. Again, these are must textures that should work for you and do not affect or cause CTD.

Adding ROW over TM seems giving more beautiful waters ? not yet understood what mods of ROW are included in TM and don't need to be reinstalled over

I play in full reality except for the battery and fuel (in order to gain time rejoining patrol zone at full speed) with a realy nice FPS (NV7800GT)
However I noticed a curiious pb I encountered a Musuki destroyer that sent me DC (exceptional noise! and the search light + flare lighting rocket are very nice in night) I had a bad flood with a cloison broken in the torpedo front compartment my guys had just finished to repair as suddenly everything got broken from everywhere and of course I sank. Not yet understood what happened as i made several savegame I will replay many time the sequence to check. pehaps an AI pb ??

tbh all youve done by running that lot is disabled evey fix in the 1.4 patch, aspecially the 20k scenery. there must be 100 posts round here saying avoid the ocean and sky controls till leo looks at them . but nm

I agree . Excalibur Bane's ***List Of Modifications For v.1.3*** was always a very handy way to stay "UP TO DATE" in one glimps. You dit a awsome job there E.B. and i realy hope we will see a v.1.4 list soon.;)

I think a master combined list would be very useful. I actually thought that the first post in this thread was going to be that master list....updated periodically as Mods became validated as 1.4 compatible.
Some Mods I'd like to know about before I re-install:

I think forums format has out lived its usefulness and I wish they would come up with a better solution.

Take it easy, I was talking about forums software in general. They just need to go to the next step because the need is there. This format works but with limitations and if they could come out with something like a cross breed of Share Point and a forum that would be a major step in the right direction. IMO

Does anybody know if the environment colour files from ROW sky and Ocean controls have any adverse effects on 1.4?
I understand that the scene.dat is what may cancel out some of the new effects. Am I on the right tract here or should I leave the whole thing alone until Leo can convert it to 1.4 spec?
Just trying to piece my mods back together again at the moment.

If a texture mod needs changes made to the Menu file then it will be an issue as the menu file did change with the 1.4 patch.
For instance a hud mod that needs menu changes to look right and work needs to be updated for 1.4.
The ROW texture file is totaly okay to use as all it has is textures in it nothing else.

Hi Guys, I have just come to notice that the DDs are continualy dropping DCharges and none are hitting the water or exploding this just since patch 1,4 anyone else got this.The Charges are rolling along the racks and then nothing ??? :damn: I'm thinking of uninstalling patch 1.4 it seam to have cause more bother than it was worth.!!!!:hmm:

Are you using any mods? It's been confirmed that ROW Objects v4 caused this problem (some missing data in one of its files).

Thank you very much for headsup on this problem I was using one or two of the Row Mods I have now gone back to Basic 1.4 Patch.I know Leo is on to the Upgrade for the Row Mods so I'll wait till he's got them running He has'nt been to well latley I hope people will understand this and give him abit time. :up:
