Hi all,
I was wondering if it’s possible to mod the manual targeting system in SH4 to allow for snapshot solutions. What I mean is back in SH3 when you turned your scope it would change the bearing of where the torpedoes would be fired even without a solution. A lot of times while I was attacking a convoy it was nice to swing the scope around at different solutions and fire on a bunch of different bearings quickly before diving deep and waiting to hear a bunch of impacts. But with SH4 if you have the manual targeting system enabled it will only change the bearing where the torpedoes are fired if you enter a solution making it so you cannot fire on multiple bearings quickly. The only solution I found was to enable the auto targeting system so when you turn the scope it changes the firing bearing (you hear tick marks when you turn). Only problem is if your crosshair gets close to a ship the Position keeper jumps around to compensate for auto targeting throwing the bearing off from where you want to fire on. I’m totally unsure if this can be modded into SH4 or not because probably its hard coded but if it could be done it would make the game hella funner for me at least...
