I was wondering if there was a way to increase the max number of officers you're allowed to have on your boat:hmm:. I could do with 2 more or so, especially on the small boats like the IIA and IID.
Can this be done?

Yes it is. In Basic.cfg, look for something like below and change according to your needs.

So well. As is known, there are only 3 faces on 5 officers. There is a sensation, that we have twins or clones onboard. Among sailors it is not appreciable. Already some new faces (skins) are accessible, but how can we enter them into game? Is anyone managed to achieve more proportional parity, to not go with twins onboard? I have tried to add in the officer company one more face, on analogy with uniforms skins it should work, but does not work. And an essence in the following, we take folder necessary to us (OFF/Head02 for example) and to existing 01_OFF_Head02_D.tga, we add a new head with a name 02_OFF_Head02_D.tga. Officer HeadIdx are numbered from 0 up to 2, that corresponds 1-3 under numbers of folders, and HeadTgaIdx at all officers =0 that should correspond 1. On idea the config with HeadTgaIdx=1 should pick up the second head, but it does not occur... In it that also consists a question... Certainly I in advance have made the list of officers, and knew precisely, whose face should change.

is that for individual boats, or all? wouldn't mind a couple more, as i have 2 empty berths in for/aft crew quarters

Idea:
You all know that you will die if too much crew members are killed... The boat itself could be still intact, but the career will be over if you lose too much crew... if we would change the MIN crew settings (like min officers 3 to 1) could it be possible to go on? of course at a certain point it would be unrealistic and very hard to do... but hey... if the navy guys in U-571 can do it? :rotfl:

You'll find there individual entries for each of the boats. But make small and cautious changes, because if you increase the number too much, you'll get an error at mission start, something like "Too many/few sailors/petty officers on board". I don't remember very well this thing, as I modded it long time ago and I'm @ work right now. As a general rule, if you add a petty officer subtract one seaman, so that the crew number as a whole remains the same.
In my game, I modded more petty officers and less seamen, so that I have more specialists on board.
