Hi guys,

a quick question: is dl'ing form u-boot.realsimulation down? I can login, go to the downloadpage, click anything I want to download, but on the page of the file I want to download I get no dl-button whatsoever, just some XXX ads all over the page. Any pointers? I reallyreallyreally want to dl some of Fubar's hi-res skins, but since his own FF-page is somewhat lacking, I wanted to dl them from there, since I don't know where else?

Try this:

There's a really small "download" link under one of the ads. you have to look hard for it.

Maybe you should try disabling JavaScript and Cookies in your browser to avoid ads and pop-ups. I'm using Firefox, having no problems at all loading files from Uboot.Realsimulation, even without login in. The download link is situated in the middle near the end of the page reading Download Now, left of Rate File and over Images.

Got it guys, it's indeed something I must have overlooked :dead: . All the way down in teenytiny letters "download now".

or just press ctrl+f in your browser, and type "download" in the search field. No need for reading whole pages to find one small word. ;)

All I get when I press the download now link (below the blonde... does she live in your home town too? ;) ) is my browser (opera 9.23 or IE 6.0) telling the adress doesn't work. I can't get the "Contact admin" link below come through either. It only stalls. Anybody else have an idea to contact their people incharge?

Hi,

I tried it with Mozilla and I.Explorer. To test i downloaded SH3 1.4b patch, both work. Some files dont download, because what i think they arent being offered anymore.
So its a matter of luck? and finding the download button of course :yep:

Something happened to that site, cause I'm trying to download the 'all grey contacts' mod and it's not working. Here's what I'm trying to get http://www.mpgtext.net/ubrs/Articles/Silent-Hunter-3-File-Readmes/All-Gray-Contacts-Version-1.1.zip-Readme-(Mods)-20051020890/

btw If anybody can link me to an 'all grey contact' mod it would be much appreciated.

Why yes, she does. Funny how she does that.

Something happened to that site, cause I'm trying to download the 'all grey contacts' mod and it's not working.
Terrapin actually said many months ago he was shutting everything down due to operating costs and lack of donations. I'm surprised anything works.

As for the all-grey contacts, I recommend going a step further and using the Assisted Plotting Mod. It comes built in with RUB, but the readme is so comprehensive it's easy to extract just those files. It gives you no contacts at all until you lock onto and identify a target, then that icon alone shows up, and it's grey.

Much more realistic. On the other hand, I only recommend this because I don't know where to find the 'All-Grey' mod either.:damn:

More hardcore than anything, of course, is to turn the 'Map Contact Updates' off.

Thanks Sailor Steve, once again you're great help.
