Here is what I want to do. I have just put in a really great patrol as the USS Drum, I sunk about 28,000 tons or so in the east china sea, onthe returen to pearl I wandered into a Task force centered around the Ise class BBs. I put the 4 after torps I had left into ISE but it managed to get away. When the 4 DDs in the group attacked me I was deffinatly in hot water. they managed to get a good run on me, knocking out my after batteries. Now I still had the Forward batteries with a good charge in them (for some reason it automatically cut me down to 25% remaining charge even though the forward batteries were not damaged, since the take up the same amount of space I assumed a 50/50 split but anyways) I took damage to the electric motor, the diesels and had heavy flooding to the engine room. I found myself stuck in a very bad situation, the electric motors would only turn over at 2 knots, the rate of flooding, and amount of water already in the engine room, was pulling the stern down, faster than my screws could keep it up, so I soon lost depth control. On my way to crush depth (which thanks to the damage my hull already took was going to be a good deal more shallow than 300 feet) I came up with a plan that just happend to work. Before I went below 200 feet I blew the ballest tanks dry and managed to flood them before I broached. I managed to contimue to do this, while launching decoys and managing to manuver out of the way of the 4 DDs doing depth charge runs on me. Luckily it wasn't Bungo Pete up there, one of the DDs managed to drive right over the DCs that another destroyer had just droped, after taking the brunt of the DC run, the destroyer sunk soon after. Somehow durring this I was able to escape and my damage control party got the motors fixed so I could get her up to 4 knots and regain depth control, at the time I had less than 10% of my compressed air left. Here is the catch. The DC run must have damaged my diesel tanks because with about 65-70% fuel left, I can't even make Tulagi which is about 2800 miles away from my current position. What I am wondering, is there any way I can hack the save files so I can turn on unlimited Diesel Fuel, that will atleast let me get home.

Go to user/mydocuments/sh4/cfg
Go to UPCInitial/Gameplaysettings and change unlimited fuel to true
Then back up and go to saved games/current saved game(00009 or whatever it is)/gameplaysettings and again change it from false to true and your in business.:yep:

Now get that ship home Captain:up:

You might also want to check that the battery loading mode isn't stuck on(happens sometimes when batteries are damaged), since that would considerably shorten your range.

thanks for the help, even changing the gameplay settings wouldn't do it. Turns out it was the generators were turned on all the time, I should have figured that out but once I turned them off I made Tulagi no problem:rock:

Thanks for the help

would he still have unlimited fuel on his next patrol or would he have to return the settings to normal manually to turn off the cheat and return to the regular game settings?
