Well I now have Sh4 running fairly well on my older computer and I want to thank everyone who helped me to get the mods running again and the game. Community has been a life saver. I have reinstalled the game and patched to 1.3 and then installed the mod enabler program as per directions. Then installed the TM mod and the graphic mods as per instructions. It has made a huge difference in the way the game is played and looks.
Still wondering if somehow there is a problem though as I thought that the new ROW mod and TM mod allowed oil slicks to form on the water much like sh3. I have not seen this and have set up several examples using the mission creator to try and get this to work.
Also there was a mod that allowed walking around the deck of your sub and also (from what i read) other ships. This mod does not seem to be working as when I try and go to "shift f2" i end up back in the submarine command room and that the only area i can walk around. I'm not sure if this mod was included in the TM mod (latest version) or if its a whole now mod.
When using the "identify ship" key as in sh3 is there something special thats needs to be done. I have enabled the button via the instrucions by removing the ; before the command line and specifiying a button to press. When I press the button it says that the ship is being identified but does not display any information and does not turn to the page in the identification book like sh3. Has anyone got this to work correctly and has anyone got the solution to target to work correct. Yes i know is a realality cheat but sometimes I like to at least check my solution.
The nomograph on the map screen, can someone please explain to me how to use this. I have never seen it used but it looks usefull for calculations of speed and distances.
Now for my last question well for now, how do you target ships after they have started the zig zag pattern. I created a mission where you have to sink several tankers protected by a few cruisers and sub chasers. Now at the beginning of the mission I dive and get out of site however, I always end up being pinged even while moving at slowest speed possible and running silent. They then of course warn the whole convoy and now the ellement of surprise is out the window. Now they will head right for my location forcing me under a thermal layer and hiding. When i do get a chance back up to periscope depth I only have a few seconds to get the information and get back down, then repeat this process. The problem is that the targets are now zig zagging making perdiction of AOB and course and speed almost impossible, every shot misses. There has to be a way of targeting the ships even if there zig zagging and also of avoiding detection. The mission is set in 1945 so maybe that is why im picked up so quick even when submerged.
Just looking for some help and most of these questions I have yet to see answered online and if they have been answered then im sorry for repeating them.
