I know some of the bigger mods have this, but does anybody have a stand-alone mod to start outside of the dock? There is just so many times I can drive past the same band playng!

?I personally don't know. I guess you will have to use the mission editor to tweek the campaign files. Good luck dude.;)

A mod with this properties also interest me a lot....Like in SH4 we could have a starting sreen before each mission where we could chose between " Start mission docked " and " Start mission outside the harbor "
Would be nice for people wich dont uses supercomputers:up:

You need to edit both the Campaign_LND.scr (new start places on the map) and the Flotilla.cfg (putting the new coordenates got from the map) for all standard departure point. Isn't difficult, but a enduring work.:up:
It's doable.

Would be a nice option to have in SH3 as I like this in SH4.

Well, will be not exactly as in SH4 - isn't possible to put a true option "in game". Will be necessary to enable it as a mod using JSGME. But SH3 Commander could do the job smoothly for the player! This will require a new addtion on Sh3 Comm code by JScones ( I guees that this will be simple and easy) with a coordination work from someone to make the hard job with the campaign files. If JScones agree I can make it for stock and GWX team (me or BBW) could make it for GWX 1.04 IF K. Lehmann agree (GWX is almost close now to new additions to allow we to finish the new update).:up:

That would be totally great! I love SH3 Commander as it is,, it's terrible he stopped all work on it. SH4 really needs one. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.

May be possible to add the additional files through the random feature of SH3commander

Sometimes start in port
Sometimes out

Realy must learn how that side of commander works one of these days

Yes, this could be also a solution but I should like more to really have the option to choose when. For example, after some short missions on the same departure place could be a good moment to start a new patrol quickly outside of that port. On the other hand, after mid 1944 the ports can be attacked by allies planes, then I should like to always start on port just to see the action and so on.;)

But in the end, a new special feature on Sh3 Comm really rely on Jscones.
Anyway, do you have another idea on how to automatize this feature?:hmm:

Anyway as a technical question/opinion...The best way/location to put the Harbour land unit will be at 30km max from the default location, into the sea. This way the player can finish the patrol docking if he wish and the name of that port will stay near the default one in the in game map. What you think? Ideas?:hmm:

The deck nor flak gun works on them either :88) ..... Best way i have found to avoid all that stuff ( when I don't want to listen or watch ) is when you first open game just order ahead flank speed ...go to nav screen and plot the course out of harbor where you know there aren't mines and nets .... remove the watch officer and time compress to about 64 .... go get a cup of coffee and by the time you get back you'll be clear ....

I second the idea using an option in SH3 Commander. Sounds like a terrific idea. Sometimes it's fun to leave harbor as alive as they are now ever since the HT Mod, but from time to time it's tedious :)

I'm finishing the mod for GWX 1.03 now. Works very well. I will release it as a mod to be fully tested and experimented by us. Then we can claim JScones with more "sure" about it.:D
