I know this is the mod section and nobody here is obligated to answer. So if you do I appreciate it if anybody has experiance in DLL files.

I keep getting this error message right after the intro mid loading of the startup game. 4 times I've clean install in the last 36 hours. For over 3 weeks never a crash and now I don't know if its one of the newer mods or the very recent Vista update.

Any clue to why Filemanager.DLL would be causing the crash?
I found two backups A$$ and B$$

I'm going to Ubisoft to see what they say and check around microsofts website to see any similar issue.

I could play the game 2 to 3 times before the crash.

I apologize to the moderators for any headacks I might give them regarding this post.

Thanks for your time.:yep:

I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit installed on my new laptop and I haven't experienced this problem you're seeing yet. I did learn though that DX9 can coexist with DX10 and would recommend updating your DX9 drivers or installing DX9 if you haven't. This caused me some grief until I did that.
Also when installing ensure you install as administrator. This also caused me numerous headaches. Right click and select install as administrator.
In case you're wondering and questioning this I did also. But it is true, DX10 and DX9 can and will coexist in Vista. This has since made games that were previously unplayable (like SH3) on my new laptop playable again and without crashes.

Thanks Racerboy for your response. I did that ages ago. But its possible there is a newer DX9. I'll look into that. I also resently updated my NVidia driver to 163.69 for my GeForce 7600GT. I might just rollback if that could be a solutions. I also saw a new update for NVIDIA driver at Microsoft update when the big update happened fewdays ago. Hmmmm to many unknowns.:hmm:

This is what I'm going to try now.
See if there is and update for the DX9/10
I will update the vista Drivers for GeForce 7600GT's
