Do you need to have the game running before you enable mods?

Game off then you add mod's. And read the read me's because some mod's need you to be inport for them to be added and others you can add at anytime.

In port is home base for your sub in the Captains room view. And some mod's will not work with your previous save's so once you leave on a new Patrol then they work well. Mod's that are just for graffics almost always can be used at anytime. But if they effect the Campaign layers then you can not use a past save from port only go forward from there.

I hope he can answer the question for you easier than I can seeing he made the program.

I installed the program and copyed and pasted the icon in my SH4 folder one works, ons does not.

C:\Docments and settings\Documents \ (does not show availble mods)

C\Documents and settings\My documents\SH4\ (shows avaible mods)

When JSGME opens it is a split window the left side is mod's not being used the right side is mod's activated.

Plus I thought when the program installs it asks if you want a desk top icon placed for easy access.

This is what I do I have a short cut to the mod's folder on my desk top next to the JSGME start up icon. I click on the mod's folder and add a mod there. Then open up JSGME to activate it.

When you install the program it is supose to be installed in the games root directory. C:/ Programs/Ubisoft/SilentHunter

When you open up that file the JSGME program icon should be in there along with a Data file and Mod file and other stuff.

yea leo he needs to copy the instalation exe to the game directroy then run the install program, if I read this right.

But in the new one it allows you to chose where to install it and in the directions it say's it has to be install in the game's main root directory not any where off on it's own like you would a game.

This is a program to compliment specific games it is used for so has to be installed in the game directory you want to use it in and or with.

So if your game is in C:/Programs/UBISOFT/SlientHunter

that is where the JSGME program goes.

If it is in F:/Games/Programs/Ubisoft/Silenthunter

then you put it there. Has to be in the main game file.

To go along with the other help being offered here, check my sig for a great Illustrated Guide for JSGME, there may be something there that might help.

The game autosaves two files concerning the port: OnEnteringPort and OnLeavingPort. I'm assuming that I would start the Save OnLeavingPort after installing the MOD. Hopefully, my changes in Sub Equipment, Promotions and Medals would be included.
