[REL] Sub underwater FX (bubbles+caustics/per sub)

Hi, fellow captains:arrgh!:

Some of you might have already crossed my WIP and DEMO threads.
The purpose of this mod is to enhance the bubbles effect you see on your submarine while underwater and accentuate the caustic effect on the hull (currently working on making them appear on conning tower for v2).

As it appears to take me much more time to complete than how much i thought it would originally. I'm releasing this mod sub by sub, whenever one is complete, so you don't have to wait too much time. It is of course row compatible.

A matter of taste, indeed...
Test it and should you want caustic to be lessened, download skwas Silent 3ditor and i'll tell you how to increase/decrease the effect. ;)

I didn't tested it in such bad weather so yeah it looks a little overdone in that pic... That's because water isn't supposed to go that below keel lol but well i think i could live with this

Going to see in game...

Vs the angle of the sun in the sky and how much light is available for the reflection.

When I took that picture the sun was starting to set so they were very intence. They constantly change according how much light there is and where the light is comming from and how ruff or smooth the ocean is at the time. Fade's in and out according to the cloud's hindering the light and so forth.

These files DO overwrite the ROW sub reflection files.

Did you incorporate the ROW adjustments into your files?

And everyone should know to activate ROW first, then this. Correct?

Okay Kapitan, as usual, things look better in motion and in game, than static screenshots.

I loaded it up, and after a few seconds of getting used to it, I think

it looks great ! :up:

Nice job. Definately a bit intense compared to Stock, but looks great. And the bubbles look really great as well.

I did give Kapitain_zur_see the info to add to the file's for the sub's the reflection work and as far as I know he made the apropriate changes. I will look and make sure he did.

So you would put this on top of the ROW mod seeing it is new work added onto our's.

BTW Kapitain_zur_see I found all the missing stuff that we will need to get the Dynamic shadow's and the Unified renderer's for the Caustic's and so forth for the Conning towers that are missing in SHIV we will have to get together on this after I put all the data together and see how we are going to get it added to the towers like they are set up for the sub's. Will be time consuming I am sure but when it is done we will have both shadow's and other effect's from all the conning towers in the game.

Just wanted to make sure you could download them that is all Kapitain_zur_see did a lot of great work on them so wanted you to be able to get them. At least your problem is solved for now.

Okay, i'm very pleased that lots of you guys enjoy my mod :up::up:

I've packed up a new version for each sub that now incorporate row tweakings (as Leo stated them to me), so it should now be 100% compatible with ROW even for the balao and the sargo. You can download them the same way as the first ones, the rar files won't seems different but they are :yep:

Also, i've lessened the caustic intensity so it does not look that overdone.
Caustic also appears on the hull while on surface a little above waterline, just like it does on surface ships.

Now Leo, if you have gathered clues as to how caustics are implemented, you bet i'm going to work on it together with you!;) :up::up:

actually no, but i'm going to do it. Previously i didn't since it was now included in ROW. However, since 1.4 is out...
I lack some site names that provides same thing as megaupload or rapidshare. I'm going to find some... In the meantime, for such things like rapidshare or megaupload, if you don't have a fixed IP, simply turn off and turn on your router to get a new IP and trick megaupload or rapidshare to believe you're someone else and get unlimited number of download ;)
