I'm just speaking generally here, I'm sure there are folks out there with similar h/w (that ain't me).

Just crank it up AA and Aniso Filtering until you can't stand it no more. I don't mess with fancy options (like special ATI AI ???), I've seen them mess up visuals AND performance on other games.

best you can do is to mess around with things and find a good balance. with a 700 i doubt you'll be able to max out everything and still get playable framerates, rather than a slideshow. i had a 850XT and had to keep some setting a bit low in SH4

BTW, the vertical refresh setting, when it is "off", means that you'll get a tearing or rip across the picture when the scene is changing quickly (such as a fast pan). Turning it on removes that effect, but maxes your frame rate at the monitor refresh rate. It looks better, but it might be slower.

ATI Catalyst tweak guide (http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_1.html).

My settings, running SH3 at 1024x768/32bit/85Hz, on a X850XT:

- Anti-Aliasing x4 (temporal AA off)
- Anisotr.filtering x16 (makes sea look better at distance)
- Catalyst AI disabled
- mipmap-level > quality
- vert.refresh > off, unless
- Adaptive AA enabled, quality (makes fences and wires on your sub look better)

Using your card, I'd probably set mipmap-detail level to performance, instead of quality.
