i just updated to 1.3 patch and things are much better now but i notice fire on the water long after ships sink. now flames burning off fuel for a minute or so i understand but 5, 10 minutes of fire? well it might be longer but i sail out of site and it was still burning so.... eternal flame maybe? lol

has someone fixed this yet? i am running with no mods stock game v1.3

thank you

Fires could burn for hours on the water after a ship had gone down. Even days if there was enough of an oil slick or petrol etc in RL. So this effect is more like RL in that respect and is not really a problem. Would be good if they did burn for hours would add a lot of immersion.

If your only using SH4 1.3 you should try some of the mods on here they will make a vast improvement over the stock game. Try ROW, NSM and Taters new campaign layers for starters. They will make the game look beautiful, make ships sink realistically and remove many errors and inaccuracies in the career game.

PS download the JSGME program to install them. If you search around on here you should find plenty of information about all this stuff.

[EDIT Sorry I just read your sig and you probably know all this already!lol! Didn't mean to teach you how to suck eggs or anything there its late where I am, need sleep!]

well ok, i can understand that however a fire should match the size and type of ship better. and there is "only" fire??? wheres the smoke? cant have fire without smoke in real life so why no smoke?
