View Full Version : [TEC] merging NSM & ROW mods (smoke and explosions)

Wondering how to put this in writing.

I'm using (in this order):
TM 1.5GFX
TM 1.5
some sound Mods
ICL 0.78
NSM 3.0 (classic)
and all the ROW Mod's
_ROW texture
_ROW scene
_ROW Hollywood
_ROW high end sub reflections
_ROW high end misc reflections
_ROW high end ship reflections
_ROW camera Vs3 arcade


I'm a big fan of NSM (vessel euhmmm... die, naturally).
I'm also a big fan of ROW with its superb smoke, fire and explosions (not to mention the reflections and stuff)

Could it be that ROW (in the order as mentioned above) alters the NSM mod so much that it canceled out the part of naturally sink.
I'm asking this cause in a career mission I played just I sunk a Kongo, fired 4 fish at her and after the 2 first torpedoes hit she went down faster then a S-class can dive. :-? (even got the "vessel destroyed" right after the two first torpedoes hit)

It might have bin 'the sweet spot' of the vessel (both forward turrets were hit and blew the magazine's) and the 2 other torpedoes hit the stern but I wonder if that's the case.

If its a mod issue, what will the effects be when I change the order of install (ROW first and NSM last). Will it cancel out the reflections, smoke, explosions and fire form the ROW Mod or not?

Any ideas.

The only thing I set up so far from NSM is the Zone's file and it is the light vs of his mod all I did there was add the new effect's to the apropriate places. I am working on the classic zone's file now for an option. But I did not in any way change what Wernersobe had for setting's in the way a ship sinks.

But to add now the Ammo bunkers can expload internaly in the ship if you hit them and depeding on how Werner set up the internal compatments in each ZON file for the ships there is a posability when then blow it could effect another compartment in flood times.

I am using the light vs with my changes and put 4 fish into a Fuso Battle Ship and even though she was listing to the port and leaking Oil with fires her and the task force got away with her trailing behind on only 2 screws running but there was no way to catch her and finish her off. The only good hit I had in it was the engine room and I did not spread the torpedo impacts enough so that means to me the Light VS of the NSM Zone's file I worked on seems to be just fine.

Explosions can cause dammage.

I will work on the classic vs faster seeing your not the only one who seems to want and or need it.

No real rush needed, hadn't played the game for 2 weeks after I installed ROW (RLI) and this kinda caught me by surprise and wondered about it that's all.

It just brought to my attention the fact that I need to get the other vs out faster and reminded me to work on it so it is a good thing you posted this.

I have notes all over the place around my desk for to do's and got caught up in a few things and did forget about doing the finishing work on it.
