Is this possible to make a NET CUTTER for type VIIC ?
Like U-96 has?

Forgive my negative answer, but in order to make such a mod worth while, the subnet should be destructible, which it isn't at the moment AFAIK...
And if a u-boat started to destroy the subnet, it would probably make a lot of noice and thus alarm the surrounding guardian ships to come attack you.
Just my humble thoughts...

Does the net/cable cutter on the TypeVIIB actually work or is it just a graphical enhancement? If its just graphics it surely couldn't be too hard to add to a TypeVIIC skin?

Just Eye-candy.:hmm:
And a placement on a generic Type VII C would require a new model.

Yes - i wan't just eye candy - to hell with cutting the nets!!! - in GWX they can be easily avoided by sub and even by torpedos.
I like this sharp addiction on bow VIIB type and i will be glad when
i see the one on type VIIC.
BTW - how that can cut steel nets?

Tomi has make his type VIID - he created new tower for this mod.
Cobalt makes his canisters on type VIIC/42 and he changes a bow for this type.
Racerboy makes masts with flags and pennants on periscope.
So - i think that net cutter can be also added.;)

It was historically added in the early versions of the Type VIIC, and yes that thing could cut nets. Consider that it was sharp and attached to a 700 ton weighing U-Boat with propulsion capabilities, that not all nets were done out of steel (Fishing nets were used until steel nets were available and they certainly could jam a U-Boat's diving planes or screw), and that it wasn't in fact meant to be an offensive tool (To cut nets and penetrate in harbours) but rather a help to free itself from defending nets. Of course the diving planes could get stuck with the net, but altogether it wasn't a mad idea, and some U-Boats in WW1 managed to escape thanks to them. In WW2 however U-Boats tended to operate in the free ocean and as such the net-cutters became just a useless tool.
