Hi mates :arrgh!:

I'm currently working on some mod to enhance the bubbles effect you see on your submarine while underwater. I just post some screenshots and a video trailer now in order to read your opinion. Only the Balao has been completed as for now but everything will be released pretty soon. I might also consider choosing approx 10 persons to beta-test it so they can give their opinion how they like it while in-game because, as you will not figure out on screenies, there's also a new animation for bubbles (i.e some moves faster to the surface while some moves slower).

DEMO
Having quite finished the Balao class submarine, i decided to release it as a demo , so everyone get a taste of this mod.
You'll get the same as what you see on screenshots, however, no less than 17 new bubbles emitters had been added since. Burst of bubbles will occasionaly flow out of events along the sub etc.

Note for Reflection's on the Water users:
This demo has not been developed using ROW, however it perfectly works using it. You may just lost some of ROW specials feature (possibly sub reflection, propeller turning the right way etc.). Fear not, as when it will be released, the mod will be 100% row compatible.
Sorry for the inconvenience, as i cannot use ROW at present, due to major FPS drops when cam is underwater (working on it)

not like a bunch of guys holding their breaths under water and relaseing it all at once. More a true to life run off you would see from left over air traped around the sub parts.

Good work so far.

I will test it for you if you want?
I am testing stuff constantly in game
and load new stuff all the time

I agree with Dave. Air trapped and gradually escaping would be from a lot more than a half dozen or so areas.
Your screen shots look really good.

As it seems for now, you cannot make the bubbles runs off say for 15 min after diving and then gradually stop completely (as it should). It doesn't seems to have been coded with some kind of timer, hence bubbles will continously flow. As it is, however, some now gradually fades off before reaching surface. all bubbles do not also have the same speed.

I agree however, that there should be more bubbles "spots", like limber holes for example. I think i'll be able to add some when S3D editor will hopefully import-export 3D data, though it "could" be done while tweaking (but it's obscure...)

how hard is it for you to do this to a Sargo class seeing you already did it on the balao? Just asking so I can test it a lot better and faster in the campaign layers where I am testing stuff at the moment.

Looks good. I can't really tell from the screen shots, but are the bubbles the proper lens shape?

i believe so, it's just the same bubbles but smalled down and in greater numbers

I think they look very good... nice work :up:

I would suggest making the air streams be mixed with as wide a variety of bubble sizes... from tiny, almost mist-like...to large ones... as is possible.

And , of course, use more escape locations.

did you use the files from the ROW mod?

They contained both the sub propeller fix from Anvart and the reflections work from us so would like to know what you used for a base in the work please?!

I started the mod before i applied final ROW, so no. Sorry, next beta release will be 100% row complient.
I now knows how to place "precisely" new bubbles flows but it involves tremendous numbers of trials and errors... But i can now say everything is there to finish the mod decently

Now I just have to get the torpedo tube opeing bubbles working right the I am as golden as can be between this and the new HUD Jaketoox made for me LOL!!!!

Starting to feel like a King between Foo's skin for the sub and sqk7744's conning tower emblim work and now all of this. Keep it up and I will have an well can't say it in here!!!!

Another word's this will go over good!!!!

Yep, it's running good!! since i now have a way to quickly place every new bubbles flows into 3d space without having to undergone tedious trials and errors, i'm planning to add no less than 20-30 subtles bubbles flows like small line of small bubbles on say 60% of all events running alongside the submarine and so on.
Will take time though ;)

Yes the new bubbles add alot to the atmosphere when seeing the sub underwater and I haven't had any problems at all runnning it ! :rock:

is there is a sudden burst like they just got set free then they seperate and change in how close together they are like a normal bubble dispursal would as they move towards the surface.

And not large either very small tinny bubbles that simulate well the traped air you would find being released on a dive.

he is doing a great job on the effect.

I might consider it. However i'll keep focusing on SH4 for the moment. Doin it for SH3 would also implies me reinstalling the game etc. After this mod is finished, i'll see what i can do and if it's doable :hmm:

Thanks for the consideration, those damn giant plastic spheres just really bug me :o! I play both SH's just depends on my mood in SH3 I have WAC on Vista and GWX when I boot to XP.

With SH4 Its TM on Vista and RFB on XP.
