Specifically how does one go about increasing the distance objects are drawn at. For example the trees and building/harbor sets, which seem to disappear rather quickly.
Also is there some way to increase the LOD for ships? Say move the transition point of ships going from a high detail model, with AA/AF applied, to a low detail jaggy mess.
Lastly one reason I've abstained from using any view distance mods thus far, is that the ocean surface only renders out to a certain radius from your boat. An unfortunate side effect being that when in external or even bridge view, you can see ships that have appearently fallen of the face of the earth. A rather substaintial immersion killer personally. So what exactly contols this? I remember some guys fiddling with it back after SHIII's launch, but am at a loss when it comes to SHIV.
