In calm seas.
I know in RL even a powerboats' Raytheon radar will pick-up lobster traps on a calm day.
Lagger123987 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/member.php?u=231688) and I are tinkering with ASW sensors.
Thanks for any input.

Thanks Tater!
We'll do a test mission and check-it out in calm and rough seas
? for Leovampire is if the radar operates on a flat plane like a horizon line of ocean vs. air OR if the radar actually reflects off the contors of his ocean. ( aka are the swells physical or aestetic to IJN radar )
Sensors.cfg (in Cfg) has a radar section. There is a wave state modifier.

Tater, should I still customize the Sim.cfg, even when I put the latest sensors to a ship?
Dunno. I was just telling you where that was. Perhaps look at what a mod like TM does with those files.
Here are some threads for ya:

The waves are not asthetic they are physicle in the game and do effect sonar, hydorphone's and radar capabilities. So it can change and does change how hard and easy it is to find a sub in the ocean.
