Help! I’ve ran out of fuel some 677 nm out of Midway. :nope:

What to do – besides just waiting?

Thanx for helping

I do not play Silent hunter 4 but just end your mission or restart from an another save.

Reload a prior save. You're, for all intents and purposes, screwed. :dead:

Have a look here, some good tips regarding fuel: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=119507&highlight=ducimus+fuel

You can edit your save game for a little extra fuel.

Hi guys,
Thanx for your replies. I loaded a saved game, reduced speed to 2/3 and made it to Midway where I could re-fuel. :D

With various boats and sea states 8 9 and 10 knots are your best range speeds. Also make sure your battery recharge mode wasn't on. Often after taking damage it never goes off (since it doesn't get to 100% recharge for auto shutoff).

Simple as that really. Glad you got 'home' safely.

Set highspeed timer on until ur batteries are recharded then go at 1knot. As time, go 1kn during the day and rechard at night if necessary...

BTW 1kn is suffic to go around the world in those US rusty thin subs

Other possibility is to get closer to one of the resuply ships that times to times pop out somewhere...

But the best option is... get a few extra cans of fuel and fix them outside sub's hull... u can't go too deep otherwise they pop but its a nice lifesaving... well if you think that a sub like those US dusty rusty subs are F1 cars to sail always at top speed. :)

This little "cheat" the solar battery charger was removed in patch 1.3.

Batteries no longer charge unless the diesels are actually running.

So now if you run out of fuel you are well and truely screwed.

Only if that doesn't work on your game then coz on mine it does... even the moonlight is enough for the mooncells to recharge the batteries.

However I must say that I've not seen the moon either so I guess that is up to the light of the stars.... or wave power then.

But the fact is... I've not teleport the star trek's engine... so no warp capabilities... just impulse drive 1kn at battery power :)

BTW charging bats and floating in broad day light would be suicidal... some seabird could easily make some dropings and paint the sub's hull with white stuff... that would be messy... so no solarpanels either ;)

Yep...what he said.

I hope 1.4 (if there ever is) has a fix to this. :hmm:

Im not sure what to make out of all that.

You can OPEN the save files and ADD IN some more fuel!
