Genedige Karleuns,

This is a tricky one. In a previous thread I was having trouble getting my emblem on the side of my turm. I got it working (by starting a new career - not good) but here is the tricky bit. I think that I have a confliction between the longer wakes mod and the (Racerboy) exhaust smoke mods. If (whilst in port) I change skin and exhaust smoke to match, I end up with no turm emblem. I thought that I could get round this by creating separate folders with separate mods (including separate longer wakes mod folders) dependent upon which U-boat skin/exhaust smoke I wanted to run and then upload the mods using JSGME . It seems that whenever I run one of these, the other exhaust or wakes mods are overwritten and I lose my turm emblem (the error message that comes up is 'NSS_Uboat7c.val' has already been altered by the 'RB Exhaust Smoke Cobalt VIIc' mod) - everything else seems to work fine. Any advice greatly appreciated. I am running GWX with SH 3 Commander and a multitude of mods.

Why don't you use my own version of the longer wakes mod included with my exhaust mod? Open the tweak file and read the comments on how to use it.

Genedige Racerboy,

Thanks for the advice. Sorry about this but I didn't understand where you suggested that I find your longer wakes mod. Did you mean within your exhaust mod files or did you mean as a completely separate mod download  ?

It comes within my exhaust mod files. Open the folder that begins with 'tweak_' and you'll find the .txt file there (that is the tweak file). Open that up with Notepad or something similar. Scroll to the very end of the file and you'll see how to make longer wakes. Then fire up Mini-Tweaker by Timetraveller and go to the appropriate dropdown menu and make the adjustments that suit your taste. The changes you make will stay in effect until you disable the mod. When you reenable the mod it will revert back to 'as designed values'. You can circumvent this and if you want to know how just ask and I'll tell you how to do it.

Vielen dank for the advice Racerboy,

This seems to work a treat. In my 'tester' career, I have kept the emblem on the side of my turm but in my 'K Gunz' career, I have once again lost the turm emblem. Do you think I need to start separate careers for different sub skins (ludicrous (I'm sure you'll agree), but every time I change skin and exhaust smoke within the same career - I seem to lose my emblem):hmm:. Funny, but there seems to be no problem in my tester career. What's going on here mein freund (your advice welcome)?

Genedige Racerboy,

I decided to create 2 new careers (one using the cobalt VIIC/41 and the other using the new U-83 camo skin). I have run both as seperate entities and they both seem to run okay (complete with turm emblem, smoke and wakes) - I have to ensure that I enable the correct exhaust and skins for each career. The only thing I don't know at this stage is whether the steam torpedo's still have a wake and whether other ships have a realistic wake. I have given up on the idea that I can have several skins in the same career (complete with exhaust smoke etc) without conflictions occuring when I want to change between skins etc. Thanks very much for all the advice (I am learning very quickly from the experiences and enjoying the challenges that are presenting themselves).:D
